Is it me or does our Defense look better with Okada playing instead of Coby at SS? A lot fewer missed tackles. With Bryant being a FA next year, i’d rather pay Okada instead.
I think it might be a little more situational than pure skill. But I do agree it looks a lot better with OkadaIs it me or does our Defense look better with Okada playing instead of Coby at SS? A lot fewer missed tackles. With Bryant being a FA next year, i’d rather pay Okada instead.
Yeah, I'd take them both.Good situation to be in.
Most Xs and Os breakdowns I've seen, say the opposite. But Okada has made his share of plays, no doubt. Is it me or does our Defense look better with Okada playing instead of Coby at SS? A lot fewer missed tackles. With Bryant being a FA next year, i’d rather pay Okada instead.
The thing that Bryant offers is the ability to play single high in cover 3 and cover 1. Right now with him out, Love is probably doing this role. He does it fine but I think Bryant is probably better than Love in this role.
Okada is playing out of his mind. He is still limited but Mac doesn't ask him to do things he can't.
I like Bryant but there are quite a few safeties I love in this draft class that can play quarters/quarters and single high.
This is where the discussion needs to go IMO. It’s not about Bryant vs Okada. Both can start on most teams in the league. It’s about 2 points:
1. What safety tandem provides the best scheme fit.
2. What financial considerations need to be made.
On #1, Love probably belongs on the field all the time when healthy. But there are scenarios where Bryant or Okuda fit the scheme better than the other. Honestly, a luxury issue to have.
On #2, fortunately and unfortunately, Bryant has played himself into a larger contract than the hawks can afford with the upcoming resigning needs. Couple that with the comp pick that will come and draft prospects/FA’s that could be groomed, it may be inevitable. For someone who wanted Bryant gone after Pete’s last year, I did a 180 after MM’s mentoring and would love to find a way to keep him. JS has worked magic before…but my gut says Bryant will be the talented player they have to cull to keep the core intact.
Bryant vs Okada straight up isn’t a great discussion. Kinda like Zep vs PF…both great in different ways. Where they fit into the 2026 team is interesting.
I think Bryant is their 1st choice.Must just be me but Coby to my eyes is far better in coverage…
I agree..Must just be me but Coby to my eyes is far better in coverage…
