Obvious thoughts on the game

Our offense moved the ball well but had trouble getting touchdowns. I thought Wilson did an extraordinary job avoiding pressure today and running the ball, but seemed a bit off on his accuracy even when the o-line gave him time to throw. It didn't help that our receivers weren't getting much separation. Give credit to the Colts D for stepping up and stopping drives when it mattered. Our line had more than a few good plays where it blocked well in both the run and pass game, but on the flip side it also had more than a few It's gonna be nice when we get Miller and the rest of our O-line back. Is it too late to sign M-Rob?

Our defense actually didn't play too poorly...props to Luck for his amazing accuracy today. That pass over Browner for a TD was right on the money...I actually thought it was pretty solid coverage. Our pass rush seemed to generate a decent amount of pressure, but I don't think they've faced a QB that's as tough to bring down as they did today. Not only was he able to avoid sacks, he was able to move around in the pocket and make clutch throws and even run for them too. The first TD we gave up was just a great play call. Sherman had to close on Fleenor and there was no safety help. I was surprised to see Thomas whiff on that tackle and give up a TD. Dungy (I think it was) called Sherman out for giving up on that play. I don't know how I feel...it doesn't seem like he would have caught him. In conclusion, our defense didn't play well on the road against a good, well-balanced offense who's quarterback was throwing was laser-like accuracy and consistently picking up key 3rd downs. Doesn't sound so bad when you put it that way.

To sum it up it seemed like a game where everything went right for the Colts. On the punt block, it appeared Johnson had recovered in the end-zone, but the call didn't go our way. The Colts got bailed out on 3rd down twice on 2 pass interference calls that I thought were close to being no-calls, especially the one on Sherman where it appeared the contact was mutual and the receiver just fell down on his own. Did anyone see Tate even touch the defender on that play where he was called for offensive PI?

Good game by both teams. Hopefully the team learns a few things from this loss.

So Russ was off with his accuracy but props to Luck? They had almost the exact same passing stats. I'm not being critical of your post only pointing out how winning and losing color things.

I'm still flabbergasted that we forced three straight 3-and-outs on Luck, but this is how it turned out. Sigh.

2 of those 3 and outs were due to dropped passes.

True, but when it mattered most (3rd down) Luck made it happen. Early in the game the Colts had some dropped passes that I thought were well thrown into tight coverage. Also, and I don't have the exact numbers, but it appeared Luck was more accurate on his deep throws.

Both WRs played a solid game. Have to remember they are both only 2nd year qbs and will still make mistakes, as they both did. The league is so spoiled with franchise qbs all around that most teams expect their up n coming qb to play like a seasoned vet week in n week out.

Still leaves two downs on each of those series where they didn't convert a first, either.

RW overthrew several receivers and I counted at least three drops by Lucks receivers

Luck was bailed out by Hilton with that ridiculous catch on 3rd down when Luck put it a good 3 yards behind him with a terrible throw.

Luck threw what, 13, 14 incomplete passes? They werent all drops.
