Josh Jones filled in for Charles Cross and did a pretty good job. That could have been a disaster, but Jones did good.

On the other hand, Sundell, Zabel and Bradford were less than stellar. The broadcast showed Zabel repeatedly getting beat in pass protection, in spectacular fashion. It wasn't good. According to PFF, Zabel had the lowest pass pro grade at 43.1. Also 2 penalties for the interior line.

Zabel is the mystery question to me...everytime I think wow that guy was a steal, then he pulls stunts last night and there goes that play...not in a good way...Zabel seems to pull a Bradford from time to time and usually at the worst possible moments.

Zabel had his hands full last night. Josh Jones was ok, he did let Verse come free while double teaming Zabel's guy. Verse ended up in Sam's face on the int.

And the dude he was playing across from is an absolute beast.
Fast like 240, strong like 340
I was gonna say, the Rams DL is also one of the league's best. Year in and year out, if that franchise can't do anything else right, they keep a good DL going.

Zabes wasn't the only Seahawks rookie who got targeted and utterly humbled by McVay that day, but he had his share of big plays, and he got the last laugh in the end.

Also consider that Zabel sustained what looked like a serious knee injury a month and a half ago. While he clearly is healthy enough to play, I wonder if that has affected his ability to anchor a bit. Either way, he's a rookie and going to take some lumps, but you can tell he has what it takes to do well at the position.

No doubt that is a factor, pretty known so many players will play through injuries if their team is playing for something. Leg injuries take a long time to heal and even longer if you're still playing games. Combined with the opposing team is good, Zabel is a rookie and will make rookie mistakes, missing cross which throws off the line or makes them try to cover a little more than their typical space), these are ALL valid factors. Outside of an obvious bonehead move or freak incident like slipping on the turf for a single play, there are always multiple things at play for an overall performance.

Turner #91
Maybe wasn’t across from Zabel every play but when I saw Grey getting beat it was by him.

This. Turner is an absolute monster. At one point in the game he rag dolled Sundell like he was tossing aside a child. It was impressive. That guy is going to be a problem for a long time, unfortunately.

This is one of those situations where I have to credit where it's due. That Rams DL is very, very good, and both Turner and Verse are dominant players that are very difficult to deal with for any OL.

This. Turner is a monster and very underrated.

Zabel is coming along fine imo. But, he’s going to face guys like this here and there.

With that said, Zabel didn’t have a good game by any stretch of the imagination.

Zabel has some very good plays during that game, and some very bad plays. Some games are like that.
