Best city in the world (sure this one can be debated, Venice might be prettier, Istanbul may be more "vibrant" and Nice is nice ( ;) ) but NY is definatley the city with the highest "holy sh*t top of the world factor" in the world.

Okay, Jacksonville may be warmer, but wouldn´t you rather go to the cream of the crop of all cities in the ENTIRE WORLD?

I actually feel a bit extra honored that our hawks get to go to the NY Super Bowl, feels a bit bigger than lets say a phoenix or san fran super bowl.

And the Chrysler Building is just BEAUTIFUL!!! 8)

Damnit why am i sitting here in Sweden when i could be somewhere in NEW YORK?!?!? NYC!! NYC!! NYC!!! :D :D :D

(a bit drunk and impatient to see our colors on the super bowl field ;) )

The weather seems like it won't be bad actually so this bodes well for future northern location Superbowls. I like it.

The owner thinks he should have a game there at least every 10 years. Probably makes sense for the least amount of travel for the media. Looks like they are going to luck out and miss major winter hardships, so I could see Mara getting his wish.

I think they should have the Superbowl in Vegas if there was a facility. I'd go every year.

If this is a success, Seattle should strongly be considered going forward.

I love this city.. but disagree.

This should be a one time thing. Rotate the SB between San Diego, Phoenix, New Orleans, Miami and Tampa .. maybe Los Angeles if they ever get a better stadium.

NFL dodged a major bullet this weekend with the weather.

Why not Hawaii that way it is always at a neutral site.

So let's just play EVERY playoff game in those cities or a dome.Such BS. In fact it's enough bs that it actualily angers me somewhat.

Seriously... Why do some people think the Super Bowl needs to be more like the arena league? Weather is part of the game.

And why would weather make anyone not want the Super Bowl in Seattle? It rarely gets the kind of cold, or amount of snow that New York gets. Seattle winters are a little cold, frequently rainy, but it's not like we're in Green Bay or Buffalo. Winter in Seattle is pretty great football weather for the players, I'd argue.

And even if it did dump snow, so what? The better team wins. Neither team has much, if any, experience playing in winter storms. It wouldn't automatically be "advantage Seattle," because Peyton is bad in the snow. It's not like it's a team of Eskimos playing against a team of Hawaiins.

It only seats around 50,000 people.

Also, the flight logistics would be a nightmare.

Nice straw man argument there.

The league CHAMPIONSHIP should be at a neutral venue. The playoff games leading up to it should be played at the venues of the teams who earned it.. hence the term home-field advantage. With home-field advantage comes weather that team is likely used to (i.e. us with rain, Green Bay with cold, etc)

But no.. having the Super Bowl in an area where there could be some really terrible weather is not a good idea. And the bravado behind it is equally dumb.

The last mayor, Oscar Goodman, was going to build an NFL caliber stadium on spec. All the NFL had to do was tell LV that it at least had a chance of getting a team. It would've made sense...do two more expansion teams with LA and Las Vegas. It would work. Then they could get their extra 2 teams in the playoffs format.

Goody Goodell shut him down. Told him there was no chance, ever.

We're talking a billion dollars and countless jobs just on spec. The NFL is pretty arrogant at times.

Seattle will have to expand its stadium in order to even put in a bid for a SB! It will also have to expand the "number of beds" available as the population of the city will expand by 50,000!! Not a big deal for New York City which is over 10X the size of Seattle.

I've got no problem with the NYC(J) Super Bowl. I wouldn't want it to be a regular, (like every three or four years) but once in a while, why not? As stated, NYC is a special place.

New York, Paris, London and Rome are all amazing cities in their own right. I've never been to Tokyo, but I'm sure it's amazing as well.

That said, for it's size, Seattle packs a hell of a punch.

I'll wager this will end the stupid open stadium in a snow zone experiment.

Not many SuberB owls have had tickets left this late. The corporate people that attend the game aren't interested in being frickin cold.

Yeah I know but my main thought is a neutral game location.

I think the Super Bowl should be played at the Rose Bowl every year. IMO that's e greatest venue in football and there's virtually no chance of ever having bad weather in Pasadena.
