What does any of that mean next week?

Actually I'm 59 years old. A 49er season ticket holder, in the nose bleeds with the real fans.

I was 14 when Dwight made The Catch. I was 29 when Steve got the monkey off his back.
I have seen the best of times, and I was young when it happened. 🍺It don't get any better then that.🍻
If the 49ers never win another Lombardi, I will be ok. I witnessed 5 Championships.
Every thing else is all gravy.
You should be so lucky. 😁

Now let's talk about Sam Darnold 😁

Narrative already thoroughly obliterated. Note the Silence of the Lambs. 3 2 point conversions. First OT game won by a two point conversion. Sam's fingerprints all over the record book. Ice water in his veins.
He was phenomenal in that comeback, but the redemption arc is a trilogy. He will need to prove it in the playoffs now to change the narratives.

He will disappear along with Smith, and others.

I mean...what would be the point in sticking around, right?
I'm not going anywhere :) I called the last game as a W for the seahawks (thought it would be higher scoring) and would predict a seahawks win again. I'm just enjoying the ride for now as the 49ers are not supposed to be here.

I'm sure you're very pleased that you got to see the Niners send the Eagles home with their tails between their legs. :devilish:

Yeah not a big Eagles fan after the nfc championship game that Brock was injured. I was happy they beat the chiefs last year but will be nice to see a new champion this year

The narrative was that Sam couldn't win without the Vickies..now he is the first in Seahawks history to win 14 games in a season. He won the division. There is no more. Narrative. Unless you just make things up. The Vikings didn't win anything. They allowed 9 sacks. Not a playoff team. Then they spent 150. Million on linemen. Still not a playoff team. Our defense will shine. We will win.

I got you. The epic Rams comeback and division win sans Jefferson / KOC weren't good enough to quell the narratives for many. He will need to show it in the playoffs now, barring any further moving of goalposts.

The whole team won 14 games this season, not just Sam. You can go all the way either with a truly great QB and a good enough team arounf him or a truly great surrounding team and a good enough QB. Our 14 wins are becasue we have a defence to rival the LOB, a good offensive team with JSN the stand out and decent enough QB. If the win the SB I would not be surprised if someone other than Sam is named MVP.

The 49ers game will be tough, match ups rarely play the same way twice. I have the 49ers 3rd on my power rankings, they haven't lost to a team outside the division since week 8. Of course we haven't lost outside the division since week 5 and we are at home, we are favorites to win but we need to play our best game to do so.

The opening line is -6.5 Hawks…
I'm heading to Las Vegas for the games this weekend, and I plan on laying a bet down against the Hawks. My logic is that if we win, I'm so ecstatic about us winning that I don't mind losing $100 or so, and if we lose, at least I have myself a nice little consolation prize.

And in this case, there's a win-win scenario with the possibility of my winning the bet and the Hawks winning the game if we win but don't cover the spread.

Well of course.

NFL Football is a a team game.

However the Talking Heads / Pundits that always have something to say, act like QBs themselves win games as if they do it on their own.

The QB gets all the credit for the wins while getting all the blame for the losses.

It's absurd but that's how it is.

Also, to the latter point, I wouldn't be surprised either and Sam (being the stand-up, ego-less person he is) wouldn't care but instead would be thrilled that one of his teammates got the proper recognition for his performance in the biggest game.

Of course the naysayers will then move the goalposts on Sam saying that because someone else got the MVP, that means he doesn't deserve to be acknowledged as a SuperBowl-Winning QB and was just "lucky" and will turn back into a pumpkin next season. (or some nonsense). But wgaf at that point?

Anyway, we're getting ahead of ourselves here.

Take care of business next Saturday and move on from there.
