Okay, I’ve had some time to marinate over the loss to the niners, and I can finally talk about it. My biggest question is why did wilson give up on the final play of the game so easily and made a quick pass to a covered receiver four yards away from the goal line? He had a perfectly clean pocket and it was two seconds after the snap. The man seems to be immune to criticism from the media and analysts alike. It’s always blame Pete Carroll. Like the super bowl interception.

If you're talking why didn't he do a QB sneak, I agree.

I get that teams want to minimize plays perceived to risk injury, but I think it's gone too far since Russ' 2016 injury. Russ is paid more than anyone else in the league, and he's paid that to handle the injury risk required to win games.

It's just depressing as we've gotten as predictable as the last year of Harbaugh's Niners. Everyone knows we're gonna go base 4-3. RPOs can be predicted by an 9-yo watching TV, because it almost always is RRP. No one expects that Russ will keep the ball and take off for more than say 8 yards. No one definitely expects that Russ might get a TD himself even now.

Just saw on Turning Point that the throw to Hollister was identical to the walk off game winning play against the Bucs.

Just like SB49 final play was a Seahawk staple that season....something like 3 or 4 TDs.

Well...maybe we got em where we want em! Half-full boyo! Just enjoy the ride. I remember a time when I would have given anything just to sniff the playoffs.

-- Hey, I make fun of the Niners because let's be honest, it's easy, but in the real world that is a ferocious pass rush. You can look back, and see that time in the pocket, but unless you didn't see the rest of the game, you were thinking, Russell, get rid of this ball quickly. The Niners were obviously protecting the endzone at all costs, with eyes to the backfield. If they could come up and thump the TE that quickly, whats makes you think they couldn't have come up and hit the QB. That DB in the middle's first responsibility may even have been Russell.

-- You betray your motivation by suggesting the media never questions Wilson. Oh, and seriously, for your own mental health, it's just a game. Enjoy the hell out of it, ride the highs, ignore the lows. Your "marinations" don't have one split second of an iota of effect on the outcomes. Like Pliny said, just enjoy the ride.

You can say that about the infamous SB play too. Marshawn was probably doubled. Russ was probably watched too. So a play like that may have been the most creative option. For that reason, I'm not against that play itself, I just think it was dumb to do exactly that against an opponent who'd practiced that play with you, and then rely totally on your weakest receiver.

But, show with a variant Browner hadn't seen, have a stronger receiver there, we would then and still now be praising Pete's creativity.

I look at some of the old games, and that's what got it done. Well-executed creativity. Not just creativity. And not just well-executed.

I fear the legacy of the loss has been Pete's thinking that it was the creativity that sunk that game. It wasn't. It was poor execution.

QBs have clocks in their head. When they hold the ball everyone blames the sack on them

He already held it and scrambled around. The result was 1" short so really???

Ahh, Wilson had the 2nd most rushing tds on the team with 3 so yeah he can and has. As to the sneak how would you sneak it from 5 yards exactly? You don't sneak needing 5 yards. Also lets remembe ryour playing with your 3rd string center. I mean let sthink a little.

Been a lot of low posters appear and alot going after Wilson make one wonder if they are how they say they are or are they someone else. Not to mention every single post he has made has been hating on Wilson HMM, t-----l.

Yeah it had to be because he did not WANT to win. Maybe it was because he did not like the game plan. Maybe because while he wanted to win PC did not. Good lord the stupidity around here sometimes.
