Besides Aldon and Kaepernick, there were nine starts from the rest of that group combined last year.

Weird day for you.

Even randomly excluding two of the starters as you wish, last year:

Kilgore started weeks 1-7 until he was lost for the year.

Ian Williams started Weeks 1-10 until he was lost for the year.

Bruce Miller started 16 games last year (only counted as 8 because their first offensive play didn't include a FB in 8 games).

Should have been "before" last year. I don't count fullback because they're next to useless as draft picks these days.

Um...huh?

He is a starting player on a team that utilizes the FB often. Not counting him is just an attempt to make the draft look worse.

I all got out of Rams camp so far is how far ahead the defense is over the offense. By all reports Foles would be in a body cast if it was live hitting. Heard numbers being thrown out that Foles would have been hit on 60% of his drop backs on some days. He's thrown a mix of great passes and interceptions in the process. The OL is struggling mightily in pass protection. But that's really to be expected at this point. Sports Illustrated had the the Rams DL pegged as the top unit in the league in a recent article. They are going up against a Rams OL that features 2 rookies on the right side, a second year mauler in Robinson, and a three man battle at C where the best one is average on a good day. Doesn't get much more lop sided than that. I still think the unit will be fine in the running game so not all bad.

All I can say is get healthy soon, Gurley. Luckily we have Tre Mason to carry the load in the mean time.

You're too pessimistic considering the last practice was nearly all pass protection and no one expects this offense to be pass oriented. It's a baby Huey O-line going up against some of the best D-line veterans in the NFL. No one expects it to be pretty in August. Foles will be rolling out a lot. GUARANTEED. I'm more concerned about injuries. Relax. :th2thumbs:

Here's Foles with a helmet camera at the last practice at Lindenwood College.

Bruce Arians said multiple times today he is not happy with our RB's and will be looking to add one.

I am sure that has to do with the fact that 3 of them including Ellington and Johnson have been out the whole time with hamstring injuries.

Ellington is expected to be back today for practice at 2.

Weatherspoon and Humphries (Our 1st round pick) should be back to practice finally tomorrow.

Ellington showed flashes as a rookie, but even setting aside the injuries, he really struggled last season. So few guys of his size succeed in the NFL. Jamaal Charles is the exception, not the rule, and even then, he gets hurt to often. I'd be very concerned about Ellington's durability going forward. It's always seemed to me the Cardinals have had the most miserable luck with RBs. Your best free agent signee, Edgerrin James, had a couple of okay years down there, but he wasn't the guy he was in Indy, and the best guy you drafted in recent years, Thomas Jones, didn't find his legs until he was in Chicago. My sympathies.

That sux! Sorry to hear that. Who is he going to add?

I'm feeling sad to hear all the injury reports for AZ. I was hoping for a very strong AZ team this year.

I'm not sure if he is really going to add anybody or if it is to light a fire.

A lot of people forget that kerrwynn Williams came in for us at the end of the season when our first 3rb went down and outperformed them all by getting over 4ypc.

We also have Johnson but he's been limited who as a third round pick will be given a chance when healthy. I honestly would like to have Williams and Ellington sharing time in the backfield.

But also none of the injuries are serious except for Floyd who doesn't have a timetable for a return at this point. But we are deep at WR. The damage the injuries are really doing is missing practice reps and giving players time to gel. We still at this point should enter the season relatively healthy.

Emmitt Smith had a good year for them. Certainly haven't had a Metcalf/Otis tandem since well Metcalf and Otis.

I wouldn't necessarily say good. Smith ran for less than 1000 yards, and averaged less than 4 yards a carry. That was well below his Dallas days. I'd say the Cards last great running back was Ottis Anderson. He averaged 1355 yards on some bad-to-middling Cards teams from 1979-84 (taking the strike shortened '82 season out of the equation. Even adding '82, the average only drops to 1227).

Well Smith was over 900 yards in 15 games for 3.5 per carry so I'd say its good. You're right OJ was their last great RB. I was happy for him to get rings with the Giants. Though even he wasn't Metcalf/Otis in his prime. That tandem was special.

OT from NFC west training camp news but interesting.

I saw today besides Terrell Pryor who is just a project/tryout at WR for the Browns. Their Tallest WR is 5'10", their 2nd tallest is 5'8" then 5'7" and 5'6"

While their possible QB in Manziel is also only 6'

That could be interesting. That is one small offense. Even their RB is 5'11

I'm from AZ. All of my cousins are there today - I asked for an update from their perspective.

None of them seem worried.
