The year Beast was first team all pro, 2012, was the same year Adrian Peterson was NFL MVP and 9 yards shy of the all time single season rushing record.
For the entire stretch from 2011-2014 he was the best running back in football. Someone may have had a better season during that period but nobody was better for the entire period.
Yeah that's definitely your homerism coming out
Who was better?

Well off the top of my head, Adrian Peterson. I don't think your realize how special his 2012 season was. He single handedly carried his team to the playoffs. He was playing behind an average OL, and his QB was Christian F'ing Ponder. Teams knew all the Viks could do was run the ball and he still almost broke the yardage record. To put that into perspective look at what Todd Gurley did last year in LA being the only focal point of an offense. He didn't even rush for 1000 yards.
Say what you will about Wilson, but Marshawn Lynch was more positively affected by playing alongside Wilson than Wilson was playing alongside Marshawn. Look at Lynchs career stats from 2012-2014 compared to the rest of his career. His numbers are better across the board those years. If AD played with Wilson, AD played for the Seahawks in 2012, he could have probably hits 2500+ yards rushing.
Marshawn was definitely a Top 3 back during that timeframe though. I just don't think you can definitively say he was indeed the best.

TD was a Super Bowl MVP, Regular season MVP, 2x Super Bowl champ, and 2,000 yard single season rusher. That's why he's in.
If Marshawn can hit that 10,000 rush yard milestone, he probably will get in. But then again, a guy like Corey Dillon who rushed for 11k+ and 80+ TDs, won a Super Bowl, is not in the HoF.

How'd Earl Campbell do on your 10,000 yard threshold test? Lynch will be in whether he runs for 1000 this year or gets hurt in camp and retires for good. The Hall is not about pure collective numbers as you've been implying-it's about a dominance in the league, even if for a relatively short timeframe and winning. Lynch was the dominant power back in this league for a 5 year +/- period, and without him, our Hawks don't win the SB and don't make another.
For your assertion that Lynch relied upon Wilson for his success is nonsense. Their unique skills complemented the O as a whole to make it work. The fact Lynch ran for over 1000 in a crummy Buffalo O speaks volumes.
The eye test frequently trumps raw number data for Hall entry and regarding pure stats, again check out Earl Campbell's career-very similar to Lynch and he never made a SB but both were the premier power backs of their era.

The question is who would be next not who will be in sir. My opinion is Lynch because of Davis. Otherwise he'd never be in. Unless you're foolish enough to believe it's 2013 on a run first team? He has a small chance to be in if Derek Carr is actually Russell Wilson level, prove it honey is my thought. Oakland isn't a run focused team. They are about Carr on offense. Thank you for Reece you dummies by the way.Aros":1jsgi0ir said:Sherman
