Both Justin Forsett and Alex Collins actually looked like starter-quality NFL running backs when he was Ravens coach - imagine what he can do with a real running back ( no disrespect intended to our former RBs of course... but they were not starter quality as Seahawks)

On the surface, it looks like a solid hire. I like it.

Article I read said he interviewed for Mike's OC this year... which says to me that Mike thinks very highly of him.

This is an amazing hire. NIU has been as good as one can be at the level they are at in college football. Losing Kubiak stings, but hires like this make it much easier to handle.

I honestly have no idea if he is a RB genius. But he definitely is a dang good head coach. He knows his Xs and Os and to get him as a RB coach is a super slick move.

Arroyo and Barner appear to be the biggest beneficiaries of this off-season so far. It would be interesting to hear Rylie Mills thoughts on him.

As I recall, they got creamed by players leaving for NIL money, and looked awful last year.

Hammock did get the most out of the players that he could get, but NIL and the new roster and scholarship limits made it hard to skim good players who were surplus on the good teams.

Prior to coaching the Huskies, Hammock spent five years (2014-18) as the running backs coach of the Baltimore Ravens where he coached alongside Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald. Thamel noted their prior relationship “played a big role” in Hammock’s decision to return to the NFL with Seattle.

Nah, I knew of him as I enjoy college football also. His NIU teams punched way above their pay grade.
