I think my top choice is now Fraley after a Lions fan posted the following message.

Classic Seahawks, pretty much **** us over every chance they get.
Need them to lose a game to get us into the playoffs? They win, and then of course benefit from us winning a game that has no playoff implications for us.
Need them to win a game so we get a better draft pick from the Rams? They lose and jump that pick.
Play against us? Best they play all season, every time, plus refs decide to ignore obvious batting of the ball out of the endzone one time.
Player we like in the draft? Pick them just before us.
Need a coordinator? Let's interview the Lions beloved OL coach.
Hate those guys.

“We’re going to be really detailed in our process with the guys and be good teachers.”

“That’s going to be determined on our players. We have a base system we’ll put in, we have some strong feelings on how we want to run the ball and how we want to use play-action but at the end of the day it’s going to be getting a good feel for what our guys do well and then carrying that into the game-plan on Sunday.”

Sounds familiar?

Also, if what that article says is true, it sounds like Schotty won't be in consideration. Apparently his family refused to live in Seattle when he was our OC.

That's too bad about Schottenheimer, but I really wouldn't mind Kubiak.

He's got a couple of years of NFL level play calling experience.

The Saints ended as a worse offense than us this year, but I imagine if we started Sam Howell for 6 games and Jaren Hall for 1, that probably wouldn't be the case.

But beyond that, I think his process looks like it'll be a better fit here. He had a league average pass-to-run ratio in both Minnesota and New Orleans and while he was below average in play action rate in both Minny and New Orleans, he was in the range the Seahawks were in 2022 and 2023 when we had a lot of success in that area.

He ran a high amount of designed rollouts this year and utilized his RBs (particularly Kamara) in the passing game.

So, at the very least we wouldn't have to worry about having the most predictable pocket in the NFL like we did this year.

Tanner Engstrand would likely be next man up in Detroit.

He may be the next man up in Detroit if Johnson goes. That's a big IF as Johnson has shown a lot of loyalty to Campbell and I'm not convinced he actually aspires to be HC. So if Fraley is available why not? He checks all 6 of Brock's boxes.

Yeah except if you watched the video above they talk about how people like Matt Hasselbeck and others around the league view zone blocking teams as soft as opposed to gap blocking teams. I would prefer to run power and pulls. Do we want a pass first team or a run first team?
