1) I want our defense to have and display very bad intentions. I want to see legal violence. I want the 49ers offense to look like the Broncos offense in SBXLVIII. I want their offense to look like they can’t wait to shower and get on the team busses by halftime. I want our defense to play their finest masterpiece of the season so far.

2) I want Slingin’ Sammy D, Ghost bustin’ Ginger Jesus taking advantage of their weak ass defense. I want to see ZERO turnovers. I don’t need Sammy to throw 5 TDs (although I won’t turn that down). I need efficiency. Accuracy. Give me a 21-28, 276 yards, 2TD, 0INT stat line and I’ll be happy.

3) I want us to keep pounding the rock.

All. Game. Long.

I don’t care how they divvy up the carries. Whomever has the hot hand is fine with me. Charbs seems to have the hot sauce as of late. Again, don’t care how they get it done. Run for over 100 yards. Wear their defense down.

4) I want 60 minutes of football where not one single barf-inducing post TD celebratory Purdy Doofus Dance is endured. Not ONE! If they must score a touchdown please let it be a running back where Purdy isn’t directly responsible.

That abomination celebration is TV remote-destroying territory.

5) I want a clean game with NO controversy. No bad/impartial/suspect officiating, no bad calls. Leave no doubt, win or lose, that the better team won on that day based on the play on the field. Not some controversial play call or series of calls that the other team and their fans and media can spend the following days, weeks, months and years focusing on, taking away the merits of the victory.

GIVE ME VICTORY OR GIVE ME DEATH!

Hell, I would love to see the Hawks run for 200+ yards this game. Pound them into the ground…. Over and over until they break. That demoralizing feel would carry into the playoffs.

I agree with this to an extent, but if my memory serves me Chicago (a great example of an offense focused on the run) only really got into a great groove once they opened up the SF defense with downfield strikes. I think the play by play even noted at one point how surprising it was Chicago had not focused on the run at one point early.

I think focusing on the run too early in this game is a mistake and we need to open up AJ, Shaheed, and Coop. (of course JSN but the fact is in week 1 JSN had 124 yds...Who was #2? Cooper Kupp with FIFTEEN. How many TOTAL receiving yards after those two players? ELEVEN.

Need the full complement of WRs and TEs to stretch the SF defense thin, get them on their heels, and then hammer them with the run game. Chicago gave us the script, and guess what? Our defense isn't as bad as the Bears. Hell, even old man Rivers was sticking it to them for awhile, and they were mildly successful at keeping Jonathan Taylor in check. The evidence is there IMO, don't throw away early series/early downs trying to soften them up on the ground. Strike, strike, strike, then later in the game just hammer them on the ground.

I echo oldhawkfan and JonRud's viewpoints.

Have 1 more point than the Whiners at the end of Regulation.

That's it.

Get the damn 1 seed tomorrow!

I hope you get your wish.

The 49ers' defense isn't good, but it's not as terrible as it looked on Sunday night. It's 19th in total yards, 20th in points allowed. It's going to be Kubiak vs. Saleh. Saleh's cover-3 scheme can be beaten with quick slants to JSN and Kupp and is susceptible to flood concepts, which we should be employing with QB roll-outs with Cross out anyway. Establishing the short pass game is the key to opening up the run game and deep passes. Despite the cover-3's intent to stop deep plays, Saleh's defense has given up plenty of deep passes this year, and with a poor pass rush, Darnold should have time for some of those.

The 49ers put up 407 yards against a pretty good Rams' defense, so the defense has a big job stopping Shanahan's offense. With more to go on, I hope Macdonald has a good plan for stopping it this time around.

To me this feels like one of those games we had in 2013 where the narrative was that it would be a close game and that we aren't as good as we look (Saints game and of course, SB48), only for us to come out firing on all cylinders and demonstrate our opponent is not in the same stratosphere as us.

The Niners have done well to keep up given their injuries, but their last 8 games they have played 4 teams with 4 wins or fewer, the 6-straight-loss Colts, lost to the Rams, and have 2 quality wins against the Panthers (who we also smoked) and the Bears (who they had a straight up shootout with).

We are a different beast, with quality in all 3 phases of the game.

During the Hogs era, the Washington Redskins ran a running play called the 50-gut nine straight times into the Cowboys line. According to legend, Jeff Bostic told the Cowboys line which play was coming five of those runs, and it didn't help the Cowboys at all. That's what I'd like to see tomorrow.

We also have Barner. And it seemed to me that the bubble screens to K9 set him up outside to gash the other team. So many options, so little time. LOL

It's as bad as the Ohtani dance. Totally agree. Could be worse than the Ohtani dance. Makes me want to punch babies.

We have already achieved the goal of being a playoff qualifier. With that out of the way THIS GAME is THE most important game of the year for us. THIS GAME will determine success or failure for our two team goals to 1) win our division and 2) win the conference. Win this and our season has been a success. Lose it and we are in the "anything can happen" category of playoff contenders.
One game at a time. Win THIS GAME!!!!! Whatever it takes. Get it done.
And besides all that stuff I'm hungry for another one of my special "victory" pizzas. LOL

Am trying to see if somehow we win and still have to face them again in the playoffs, if we do I certainly don't want them to have added incentive should we meet again in the playoffs, the other part of me wants to bury them and take their soul. This is a game that tells us if we have learned how to win, lots of attention, lots of incentive, lots of mediot sound bites. Articals about how we are the #1 ranked team right now, no weaknesses the complete team this season, etc etc.

I think I want a game where we win by say 10, there is no doubt of who is better. Not so much that it rubs their face in it, but enough to say the torch has yet passed again.
