You don't know who Dave Wyman is ? Ex Seahawk, played LB. Covers the team for 710 Seattle sports radio .

Knows football fairly well .

You are joking right?
All this time living in Michigan, and I didn't even realize that was the guy on 710 Seattle radio, which is like the most popular AM station here despite being over 2000 miles away.

But yeah, as a kid in the early 90s who didnt start following the Seahawks until '96, it's inexcusable that I wasn't super familiar with the legend that is Dave Wyman, a LB who last played for the Seahawks in '92, played just 25 games over those final three seasons, and never made a Pro Bowl.

That is shocking. BTW, I'd like to point out again the part where I'm not from Seattle. Is that a difficult concept for you?

He last played four years before I began rooting for the team, and I was a kid living three time zones away, but it's still weird. From what I'm reading, it's painfully obvious that Wyman's shining legacy as a two-time playoff game participant who played more than eight games in three of six seasons for a team that was almost never on TV, should have transcended the technological limits of the time and made him ubiquitous in national media, and not just in sports.

On PFR's franchise rankings in Approximate Value, Wyman ranks 92nd at 30 AV, tied with franchise phenoms Darryl Williams, Nick Bebout, and Rick Mirer, and just one point behind Germaine "To Every Conversation About Greatness" Ifedi. I was hoping to have a good day today, but now I'm going to be tormented with the newfound realization that I missed out on the otherworldly career of the Rick Mirer of middle linebackers.

Nice use of sarcasm. Wyman might be more popular because he’s on 710 than for his NFL time, at least around here.

Actually, I'm surprised any Hawks fan wouldn't know who Dave Wyman is. Unless you're younger and didn't see him play.
There’s levels of fandom.

There’s “casuals” of the current generation of Seattle Seahawks football (fans of Holmgren era, Legion of Boom era, and current).

And then there are “die hards” fans of Chuck Knox era etc…

Many on Dot Net are Chuck Knox era die hard fans!

I would say a good amount of posters on Dot Net are “forever/inception” fans.

Most here are quite knowledgeable and are fans for decades.

The today era, would not likely know who Dave Wyman is, unfortunately….

My apologies.

How dare I not know that you were from Michigan. How dare I not know the year you started following the Seahawks . 1996 correct ?
It's not a difficult concept for me . I'm working on it.

Seahawks country ...let's ride !!

The amazing thing to me is that a kid from Michigan decided to follow a sh*t team like the 1996 Seahawks. The Hawks were awful for most of the 90s.

I'm looking for anything that actually shows that, but everything I'm seeing that even mentions it is preseason. I don't know who Wyman is. Does he give any actual numbers or anything to show it happens "on the regular"? I believe PFF tracks double-team percentage, but I don't have access to their stuff. And "triple teams"? It would be cool if that's happening. Also, Mafe missed those same games. Are teams not focused on him?
Former Seahawks and Broncos linebacker Dave Wyman. He is co-host of Wyman and Bob on 710 AM and the color guy for the Seahawks game radio broadcasts.
