This was certainly the most hard-fought win we've earned in a long time. Many will say Seattle didn't deserve to win, or that Texans lost it in the 4th quarter/OT more than anything, but no, Seattle kept fighting with everything they had and won this sucker. Determination never wavered. Seattle wants it all this year.
That said, it was almost bizarre the way Schaub kept finding his receivers with relative ease well into the third quarter (especially in light of their O having not impressed anyone so far this year). Our coverage guys, who usually excel shutting down passing lanes, seemed a bit comatose watching the opposing receivers and TEs make catch after catch in front of them. (Our run D wasn't much better, but Foster will do that to any team.) I'll chalk this up to stellar game planning by the Texans, and to Schaub finally finding his rhythm -- at least for 3 quarters. Hope we get back to shutting down those passing lanes vs. Colts.
Seattle's D may not have looked very good for much of the game, but consider the points scored by the Texans in the first, third, and fourth quarters plus OT: zero.
It's remarkable the number of tough defenses Seattle faces this year. After the Colts next week (ranked around 14), we'll face 8th-ranked Titans, then we'll finally get some easier defenses to face. That will be a very welcome change of pace.
What a game. Average Seahawk fan life expectancy can't be very long at all.
