Russell Wilson is Shaun Alexander 2.0. A decent player that was able to put up HOF like numbers due to coaching and extenuating circumstances. I think their legacies will be viewed the same when it's all set and done.

Agree, but Alexander never burned bridges the way 3andOut has. He never created a climate where he was perceived as a fraud (now on and off the field). I think in jettesoning Russ, Wilson sank his legacy while PC's was elevated considerably. I don't know that Russ will be able to recover if he continues at this pace. He will be forever known as (aside from the LOB and whatever the latest incarnation of Hawks become), Pete Caroll's greatest creation.

I think Russ could get back to becoming a good QB if he played under a strong coach like a Holmgren or a Parcells. The coach has to be a "Alpha" for Russ to succeed. He has to have some sense of fear that he will be benched.
Hackett is the fall guy for Denver because he allowed Russ too much autonomy at first. Also, when you sign a guy for a quarter of a billion dollars it's hard to bench him or tell him what to do. Russ knows he's not going anywhere and the head coach will suffer the consequences. Russ will suffer fan outrage but he can blame coaching, O-linemen etc.

An alpha is not needed to bench Russ. With a backup like Lock, most coaches would have done so by now.

The Athletic article (I linked the free and legal archive Earlier) illustrates that the passing game concept is simple.

Wristband or no, when Russ gets the ball he has to make football decisions on whom to pass to accurately. Like “the ball just kinda went away from me“ is supposed to be an excuse?

The problem with the above list of 'accomplishments' is that it's obvious he attained those achievements because he was afforded an opportunity to thrive in a system where he actually didn't have to 'Learn' how to play football properly.
And now, in Denver, he's proving that not only is he not capable of playing the position on a fairly rudimentary level for the Broncos in terms of making reads and throws or even understanding situational football, but when the record is examined, it will be obvious that this is not a new development - the same errant reads, pack of adjustment... lack of football smarts was evident while he was here. And, wrapped in his own hubris, he's systematically alienating himself from anyone who'd defend him.

And worse... he's only getting started. Unless Denver cuts him, he retires, or another team is bonkers enough to trade for him, he's going to spend the next 26 months putting more film in the archives that looks like what he's laid down over the last 3 months. Every game he plays, he casts more doubt on what he ever was. That's not forum trolling. That's Me3.

And it will be nobody's fault but his.

And as much as I can't stand Rodgers, the dude is a bona-fide 1st ballot HOfer when he hangs it up.

But, like Russ, he too has hamstrung his team with his hubris and desire for the fat contract. There's no mystery there.

But to confuse Russell Wilson's struggles (or accomplishments), and abilities for Aaron Rodgers??? I mean its obvious how well Russ executes the offense Rodgers can run with his eyes closed...

Other than the stat sheet, and again, its plainly obvious now how significantly a simplified system played into Russ achieving what he did here, Aaron Ridgers and Russell Wilson aren't remotely in the same category of player. And that hurts to say.

Thats what I thought too, but the 9ers pick is at 20. Im not sure that they get that guy to train that low in the first.

I do think that even if their backup is Rypien that they need to take action. You no longer get that office for you and team3. Whatever they are doing for you isn’t working.
