I'm surprised more people haven't been talking about McIntosh. I've been very impressed with him every time he touches the ball. He's faster and much quicker to the hole than Charbs, and even though he's on the smaller side, he runs hard and finishes runs well. He's been very productive anytime he's been given an opportunity.

I would definitely like to see him get more opportunities next season. Whether that means less of Charbs or Walker, that's a question for the people who get paid to make those decisions.

I think the dude plays with a chip on his shoulder too from being drafted so low. That's the kind of dawg we need.

While I agree in principle, Charbs IMO has proven that he can be "the guy" for the future. If we keep all 3 backs next season there will be a bit of a logjam and MacIntosh will still be the #3/change of pace back.

With a new OC we'll see going forward. I believe Coach Mac wants the RBs more involved with the running game, so we should see a boost in RB usage going forward, making more chances, even for the #3 guy.

What did you see that makes you think charbs is "the guy" of the future? I'm curious as to why folks think charbs is better?

Walker has a lot of talent, but in injury prone problem. I think if McIntosh gets more touches, then Charb steps up and maybe Walker becomes a casualty via trade.
I actually like this scenario. RB is one of the few places on the team where we have enough depth to actually have a player to offer that has value in a trade. I'm pretty comfortable with the idea of trading Walker and having Charbs and McIntosh as our 1 and 2 in whatever order the coaches feel is best.

I have liked McIntosh since day one but he still lacks the ability to read the defense and consistently pick up blocks. I believe he can get better with experience but with our Oline issues it’s made him a liability in that area.

Too many good RBs is a good problem to have.

Now that we know we're getting a new OC, I'd like to see Walker get a chance to play out his rookie deal and see if he can get back to his rookie form. He deserves it, he's got a lot of talent, and he's a great teammate. And after his contract is up, if it's more of the same for him as it was this past season, and they decide to let him go, I hope he finds a team where he's a good fit and can be RB1.

We need bare minimum of three yards a carry between the tackles, bare minimum. Walker frequently gets us zero yards and one yard a carry between the tackles, his stays get distorted with some good long runs on the outside. Walker makes a great change of pace back but not a good every down back. Yes the OL needs more blame then Walker but I just don’t think you can depend on Walker to get the tough yards.

Dare I say we should seriously look at trading Walker?

I like K9 but love Charbs running style and consider him more of an every down back. Now, factor in that KMac looks just as capable….

Hmmmmmm

I love Walker but you have to start wondering about the injuries. He is one of those backs that you think can take the ball to the house at any time. The number of times he makes something out of nothing is pretty impressive. I would be curious to see what he would do behind a competent line. Charb has done a great job filling in when he has been out and McIntosh really impressed me in limited action. Keeping all 3 on rookie contracts doesn't seem like an issue to me. The RB position seems like one where having that depth is a great benefit with all of the injuries.
