Does McVag have our leaders number? Or did captain McDefense (AKA Mike McDonald) crack the code on “broken coverage” play that broke the touchdown and iced the game?

The rams put up a lot of yards against us and we got away with one on the zackwards pass but we won 2/3 roshambo. The rivalry is so awesome. It’s better than Pete and harbaugh. Although the expressions that Jim gave us were priceless.

Still on cloud 9 Super Bowl champs!!! Let’s go, when is preseason start?

Two best teams in football. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same next year.
But all the narratives that McSpikey hair and the Clams (sounds like a band name) own the Hawks............wrong.
New Sheriff in town.

They didnt outscheme us in the 3rd game. By then we gad them figured out. We just got beat on a handful of absurdly good throws against tight coverage and had our guys trip up either physically Spoon) or mentally (Woolen on the td). But otherwise, the DBs played really well and were in position within the scheme to make the plays. If anything, Jobe and Spoon are just on the small side to go up against their top 2.

We do need a guy that can get to Stafford though. But scheme-wise... they have no advantage.

The key to success in 2026 will depend on Macdonald figuring out how to stop McVay's offense. Macdonald has done very well against Kyle Shanahan, but his history against McVay is not as rosy.

In 2023, when Macdonald was the Ravens' defensive coordinator, Baltimore had the league's best defense, as you all know. But, in a bit of a shocker, the Rams scored 31 points against Macdonald's defense in a 37-31 overtime loss. The Rams were able to rack up 410 yards against Macdonald's defense. They were one of the few teams to have success against the Ravens' defense that year.

In 2024 and 2025, except for the first 2025 match between the two teams, McVay has continued his offensive dominance over the Macdonald defense. The games the Seahawks won have relied on offense and special teams.

I trust Macdonald to find a way to stop McVay's offense. The secret to Macdonald's success is his intelligence. He graduated summa cum laude, for god's sake. He's just smarter than everyone else, and fortunately, that's what it's going to take to stop McVay. Macdonald's figured out Shanahan. Now he's going to figure out McVay.

Surprised he's not looking in the mirror. He loves him some him.
Only somebody as full of himself as him would think we somehow need a new rule to prevent a 2 point convert when a lateral bounces off a defenders head & forward into the endzone where it's recovered for a good 2 point try.

The ball isn't dead on any other regular play in that situation(one that will never happen again btw) so why would it be on a 2 point try?

Mac's D uses a lot of zone concepts. Lambs O is a zone beater scheme. Last couple of games we played more man, especially on Puke-a. I think we'll be OK.

It’s a true clash of the Titans. Very likely, the Lombardi comes down to the Seahawks and the Rams again next year

You're 100% right. These are going to be back and forth duels for a long time given how young both coaches are. You know Shanahan and McVay are both spending time planning for the Hawks defense, they have to since they share a division. And I'm pretty sure Macdonald is kind of pissed about how well the Rams play against us, and is doing the same thing. The fans are the beneficiaries. We won't see too many stompings on the part of either team, I suspect (playoff win against the Whiners aside).

We didn't get away with anything, a backwards pass is a LIVE ball, it
always has been.

I think MacDonald has been learning McVay's style of coaching and picking up how McVay thinks. With repetition becomes predictability, and the last 2 games the Hawks have beaten the Rams. Sure, you could say the miraculous comeback in the 2nd season game was just that (miraculous), but I think MacDonald is starting to read McVay more and more each time they play. I would say it might be a little more difficult this year considering they boosted their secondary from last year but I think MacDonald will give McVay the biggest challenge each year.
