I once said that I got a Nick Reed vibe off of Mayowa. I still kinda do, but I'm praying to dog that i'm wrong horribly about it. We sure could use another Leo and I'm hoping that motor translates to real games against the big boys. I guess he's going to start at Leo then since it seems Clem won't be quite ready to go. Him or Scofield I guess, eh?

Why isn't it Sunday yet!?

If he works out, he will be the most unpolished gem discovered by our staff. And it will guarantee that that Idaho college staff never gets another job anywhere, not even coaching pee wee.

They were already fired in Mid-OCT last year, so not to worry. :D

"Explain, as though he were a child." (Cyrrus - Galaxy Quest)

Is it because they didn't shop him around?
He never even started for them. If not for the regional combine, he is not playing anywhere.

I know people are high on Mayowa right now but I am just not seeing it. Most if not all of his production (if I am remembering correctly) came against 2nd and 3rd stringers, and the time he did start he was blown back repeatedly. I am still puzzled at why we axed Howard who had real production in real games, for another developmental de/olb hybrid that we seem to have so many of.

Umm, no he didn't. Howard has ZERO stats in regular season games. He played all of 15 plays last year.

If you going strictly off Preseason, than Mayowa played better than most backups.

I'm starting to think that the coaches see a lot of Clemons in Mayowa. They have pretty similar measurables, and have taken similarly circuitous paths into the NFL. Wouldn't it be nice if he could get similar production?
