From the Eagles. He’s a local kid who grew up a Seahawk fan and a quarterback. Would love to see that happen

Good luck. I doubt they are going to let him go anywhere and I doubt he would want to go to a team thats in QB limbo and doesn't have the pieces his current team has.

Again, LATERAL....MOVES....HAPPEN.....IN....THE....NFL.....
Examples? Because I think it's pretty rare, if the move isn't caused by getting fired. Like if Grubb went to another team as OC right now. Going from OC on one team to OC on another, and therefore 'lateral'... but not really.

Outside of Peetz, i dont care to hear about any candidate who's only experience is passing game coordinator or qb coach, no matter how hot a candidate they are - not that anyone cares what i think.

I just think we need someone who has been there, is savvy and most importantly isnt a risk of flaming out in his first year on the job.

someone with experience, fo sho.

But assuming that someone wouldn't leave an OC job on one team to come here? I'm not gonna' assume anything

Unless he just likes living out here better, I don't know why he'd leave a team with better offensive talent at every position to take the same job with another team. I think it's in his best interest to keep looking good in Philly until he gets a head coaching gig.

His current offense might legitimately be better at every position.
Well, Rashaad Penny couldn't get on the field at RB for the Eagles, even when healthy, so there is that data point.
We WERE once better at WR but then they brought AJ Brown over, and that was that.

I had asked this question in another thread. Does anyone know if it would be considered a lateral move for Nagy to come here as an OC if he would get to call plays here (which he is not doing currently as the OC in KC)? I'd even take Schotty back over many of these names that are being thrown around.

Yep, it's about fit. Just because a guy is an OC on a good team, it doesn't mean he's a good fit and/or happy with his situation.
Seattle is an up-and-coming team with a bright young coach. It's not like Seattle is some horrible spot to go.

If he's happy just being a coordinator, maybe. If he has HC aspirations, I don't see how this would be a good move for him. Maybe if Pete were still here, because if he did well, he'd stand a great chance of being part of an inevitable upcoming transition plan, but that obviously isn't happening under Mac.

If he was interested, that'd be pretty cool though, because it would signal that he sees this as a destination job rather than a stepping stone.

What are your thoughts on Chip Kelly at Ohio State, Rat? Solid? How is he with the players etc.

By "local", you of course mean the sane side of the state...

;)

I'm all for it. Kellen is a brilliant football mind having grown up in the sport. I actually played high school football for his dad back in the 90's in Prosser, I remember Tom bringing Kellen and his brother out to practice pretty often. If we could pry him away from Philly, I'd call that a big time hire.
