Oh man.
And he's signed through when?

Team has an out option in 2020, for just this reason.

Bobby's been good, but certainly not as great as he needs to be to warrant being the highest paid LB in the league.

McVay and the Rams knew exactly what to do against KJ and Bobby, run them sideline to sideline the entire first quarter and wear them out, then run Gurley right at them.

I get that Pete's in a tough spot, there really is no good answer. He doesn't have the personnel to play nickel and dime 60% of the time either against elite WR corps like the Rams. But damn dude, disguise, shift, blitz, do something different...........ANYTHING.

We have no one to replace him with that's better so it may be that he's slowing down but our depth at LB is not good. Something they will have to address this off season.

We JUST used a 3rd rounder (Barton) and a 5th rounder (Burr-Kirven) to shore up the LB spot. We have to, at some point, develop our draft picks instead of constantly recycling roster spots due to poor drafts every year.

Assume you mean after the 2020 season?

Agree with your last statement/paragraph

The stupid or idiotic (your choice) of playing the base defense 75% of the time is a very large reason we are seeing what we are....At the beginning of the year the thought was we have the best LB trio in the league. That has been fools gold, but to stick with it when it's painfully obvious it isn't is either stupid, or idiotic.

Yes, after 2020.

I get that Bobby's also our defensive leader. So that means something more than just looking at what he does on the field...........but yes, I wouldn't be surprise if we opt out of his contract after next year. Or tell Bobby it's time to re-negotiate because his play's diminished.

H is going to be on the team next year, but will be cut after that when significant cap savings can be had. Paying a 30 yr old IB 18M APY isn't smart. Sign your studs to 6yr deals wen they come up instead of 4 yr deals and this can be avoided entirely.

Still leading the NFL in tackles, that might be more of a reflection of how bad the defense is but BW still has some gas in the tank.

Played well after first extension. Has fallen off a cliff after his second. Typical NFL player tbh.
