...without getting bashed.

I wanted to wait several days to let last Thursday's game emotions die-down a little.

To me, our road uniform combination might be causing problems with our overall performance during the game. (?)
Follow me for a little....
While watching the game coverage from the overhead "field-view"....
( the camera-on-a-string view from behind Wilson )
I noticed:
1) the red & gold whinner uni's (insert any other dark uni opponent)
2) the natural green SF grass surface ~ (on screen, somewhat dull as opposed to C-Link turf)
3) ...and then, a washed-out white/gray Seattle team ~ sometimes barely visible.

Under the neon lights at night -or- sun lit Sunday afternoon's,
Is it possible that Russell is having a hard time picking up our receivers (road colors) in this lighting ??
( I also would like to mention the interception that Smith threw near our endzone that Browner stepped in front of ??
Did Smith not see him before it was too late ?? Great anticipation by Browner BTW )

I believe that we should be using our blue pants when wearing our road uniforms.

I don't have any problem with the white or gray jersey....
and this is NOT a anti-uniform thread,
I just feel that by watching these games, and sometimes blaming our offense woes on the receivers or our QB.
With the speed at which this game is played ~
Is it possible that we're losing a split second on actually finding these players down field ??

I know you're gonna say I'm crazy, but with dark colored opposing jerseys and green playing surfaces,
our whites or grays are getting lost out on that field ???
IMO
Thank You for reading my rant......attack !!

Ummmm......no.

If anything, the white jerseys should be easier to spot. Not to mention all the bright green.

Yah, the guy is obviously an introvert, and has a problem expressing his inner most feelings :16:

Come on, Dom...attack the post, not the poster.

In fact, he may have a point. It MIGHT be a factor, no matter how small. (not a RW joke)

That is not acceptable treatment of another poster. Not sure how that is allowed.

OP: Could be, interesting thought.....ya never know. Take away the drops and he was 14/23 on the night... ~61% passing.

Well, to be honest, he never said, "you're dumb you're dumb you're dumb" so how can you say he doesn't just think the content of the post is dumb?

As for me, I just want to see the blue uniforms, so let that be the problem and we fix it. Sure.

I'm o.k. with the Dumb, Dumb, Dumb comment. (not that I agree)

I am certainly looking for a win the Sunday in Detroit !!

But for those who've read my comments (OP)....
Take some time on Sunday while watching the game, and see for yourself
if we get lost or washed-out .....10-15+ yards downfield for the line of scrimmage ??
Ii won't be noticeable at the line of scrimmage, as the lineman are all grouped together....but downfield they'll
start to blend in with the other colors !!?? (opposing team, refs, sideline personnel, etc.)
....thus making it harder/SLOWER for Russell to connect with !!??

VERY LITTLE bright green in our white/gray jersey !!
( number boarder only ~ I think )
So, for this comment, I disagree..........

As I stated in the other uni thread. Uniforms don't drop passes and interceptions when they hit you in the hands perfectly.

I understand this and completely agree.
I am stating from the QB point of view.
There are NO EXCUSES for the dropped passes ~ these are professionals for Christ's sake !!

This post was about slow decision making or the actual passes that are NOT thrown on-target ~ TIMING.

Oh yes it can matter. I shot clay target competitions for years. Nearly anyone can shoot one clay target, but to shoot clay targets at a high competition level (100X100) you have trained your subconscious to do most of the work. You first see a flash then your eyes catch the flash. You track the flash until you see the target, next you find a focus point on the target and your sub conscious makes the correct adjustments and pulls the trigger. A lot happens in about 1.5 seconds. Color changes on a target, or the background and lighting have an impact because your subconcious only learns from reps anything new is more difficult. Say RW is shooting at moving targets (he is). One day he is shooting at white targets, and another day he is shooting at the dark targets, The jersey is the first thing his eye picks up before he finds his point of focus. He’s not just shooting at the entire target. To be outstandingly accurate he should have a focus point, be it the green slash on the shoulder, or the hawk on the helmet. He picks a focus point and his subconscious makes the determination of lead and placement, and when to pull the trigger (at the same time his subconcious is making adjustments for the D by color and movement). The subconscious is not that great at making adjustments off training. When tenths of a second matter color can matter. It would be interesting to know, but he is very likely using the hawk on the helmet as a final focus point when he can….I would be looking for the eye on the hawk before I pulled the trigger. I'm not an expert but i'd guess he is .5 seconds faster to read at home than on the road. That .5 has an impact. Every time his head comes up his subconcious has to remember "oh yeah we are looking for white today" Great athletes’ in any sport involving accuracy study this stuff.

You would be amazed at how much work the subconscious is doing in just the act of throwing a ball, and how poorly it adjust to change.

How does Oregon ever complete a pass in those camouflage unis?

Boise St. with Blue unis on a blue field?

Home Field Advantage does not equate into this scenario.
Besides, They practice in dark colored jerseys. (offense)
Or, are wearing white practice jerseys - WITH BLUE PANTS/Shorts !!??

I have no idea if this is an issue for Wilson or not, but I am fairly certain that Wilson knows if it is an issue. I imagine he might tell someone and steps might be taken to remedy that problem.

If we have to make ridiculous excuses for the team then this group isn't anywhere near as good as we thought. Perhaps the laces on Bruce Irvin's shoes were too loose and he had trouble gaining traction on his get-off.

I dunno, do you think a rookie would step up and make this comment OR try to work on it himself ??
Look how you guys are making the negative comments about my suggestion....
Heaven forbid Russell makes this comment and it get's leaked to the press ???
