First of all, its extremely difficult to type anything longer than a couple of sentences
or paragraph on a phone. With that said:

WR Andre Johnson probably won't play in this game.

And I know their All-Pro Tackle Duane Brown is also hobbled.

I don't think the Texans will beat us on the ground. Foster isn't Foster. Tate is a beast but the running game while good for ball control isn't going to score a lot of points.

So I'm looking at that Texans passing game.

Their O-line took a step back this year.

With Johnson out, Hopkins and Daniels does not look anything scary against the Legion. No more so than Boldin and Davis did. Before this game and even with Browner back I thought Sherman shadowing Johnson would have been a smart tatic.

So that leaves us with Matt Schaub, and I think the pressure we can get on him will be the key component in winning this game. Schaub is also the first legit statue we've faced this season. Newton and Kaeperdick are among the most athletic and solid at avoiding pressures. Henne, I would put in Rodgers/Flynn category, QBs who aren't going win plays with their legs and athleticism but doesn't mean they can't move around at all. Now there is Schaub facing a pass rush that's just now getting it revved up and has looked dangerous nonetheless.

Bennett looks unstoppable. Avril has looked good in both games. Clemons was knocking off cobwebs and still was quality. McDonald has flashed potential, he's making a statement to remain part this rotation moving forward, and its a contract year for him so I think we will only continue to see him spark. Mebane has yet to put it together for a full game but was hindered by a groin injury, so him probably at full capacity heading into this game is scary. Same goes with McDaniel. Bryant has looked amazing at blowing up the pocket but he may be out of this game or limited but the Seahawks are blessed with some quality depth. Then there is Mayowa, who has been such a gem finding in the coal mine that he came from.

I still haven't mentioned the plethora of Linebackers who have quality pass-rush particularly Schoefield, Wagner, and Smith. And others who are decent enough in Morgan and Wright.

I know the Seahawks are on the road at Reliant K in a 10 a.m. game. (Also, how stupid is that we play in Central Time Zone and kick-off is at Noon. Jaguars come to town and our Kick-Off is at 1:25 p.m. East Coast pampering is one of the things destroying the NFL. )

But back on track, in Carroll's tenure...Hell, in Holmgen's tenure have you ever seen a pass-rush so dangerous and so deep. Its going to make a huge difference on these road games, something we definitely lacked last year despite remaining relatively competitive.

Plus, Irvin has yet to show his growth this off-season (cue the jokes) and Jordan Hill could be the 2nd coming of Geno Atkins for all we know (also cue the jokes).

Any way you slice it, its all very exciting and I can't wait for these upcoming challenges to unfold and see how the team handles them in the long run.

I'm glad you brought this up. Schaub is captain check down. Think Alex Smith type. We will pressure Schaub but I don't know about sacks. All the same I think he throws balls in the dirt and off target to get rid of it before we get to him. I'm really not concerned with him at all. The Texans have looked like crap in 6 of the 8 quarters I've seen them play. Opening week on Monday Night and this last week against the Ravens. Johnson is hobbled bad, Hopkins looks pretty good (I like him alot), and Owen Daniels is the typical slow lumbering white guy TE. Foster looks very meh. Honestly, their offense is kinda shitty to me. It may be tougher since we are on the road but its not much travel and like a 1 hour time difference.

I'm pretty confidant we win this game.

Good post for coming from a smartphone. I think I would be on the brink of insanity trying to type something that detailed out on a baby touchscreen.

I don't expect the 'hawks pass rush to be nearly as effective as it was in this two game homestand with the 12s helping out.. At carolina the pass rush wasn't all that. But we had Newton contained and the Carolina passing game is fairly rudimentary by NFL standards with no playmakers at WR, recipe for a long day against the LOB. Cam was stuck throwing short passes for minimal gain.

Schuab is a quality pocket passer who can spread the ball around and deliver with timing and precision. I think they'll move the ball effectively early in the game.

I don't think this one is going to be an easy W. I really do think this is a much better team overall than Carolina and their offense is certainly on another level even if they sputtered a bit last week. They'll have the home crowd and they'll be plenty ready to play.

This will be the Team's toughest test to date no doubt about it in my mind. If we win this one, just huge for the team's confidence..

Thanks, it definitely was a struggle.

And while I don't think the pass-rush will be as effective on the road as opposed to home, it should be much more effective than it ever has been on the road than it has been in a very long time probably since 2007 (when we had Peterson and Kerney).

Remember, Avril and Clemons both were out vs the Panthers. Bennett also wasn't 100%, neither were Mebane and McDaniels, both of whom were hindered by groin injuries. Also, McDonald wasn't in that first game and he has made some dominant plays in the two games he did suit up for in terms of collapsing the pocket and making plays in the backfield. A lot has change since Carolina.

Above anything else, Quinn knows how to utilize all of these weapons this team has at its disposal. I think this is the kind of match-up where Quinn brings his A-game in terms of strategy with the players he has available to him.

I'm not one to predict the games though but I do believe our deep pass-rush moving forward could make an impact on how competitive we are on the road compared to years prior.

This Texans team just does not seem near as dominant as last year. They barely beat the chargers and titans and got stomped by the ravens. That said, I could see them getting it going at some point (hopefully not this week) and looking much different.

Schaub is captain check down and is good for a couple int's against lesser secondaries. For comparison sake, Wilson has thrown for nearly same yards w/ a third less attempts/completions. I think the LoB feasts on him and we get our share of turnovers this game. Our improved pass rush should help this as well even if slowed being away from home.

I do not expect a blowout or an easy game but I think over the course of the game we create a solid if not spectacular win. As I said before, with DangeRuss at QB if we are anywhere close in score at halftime we got this. The truest example of a 2nd half team.

All I know is they are the only division leader that has given up more points than the have scored. I am excited about this match up, and I think we feast. We have a habit of rising to the challenge, and our competition. We win this game, and the next, cause you know Russell wants to show Luck that he deserved all the hardware last year.

Have you seen something official that say AJ won't play? Everything I'm finding says he is DTD and will probably play.

Don't forget about LB Brian Cushing, y'all, he's the Texans version of KJ Wright.

Fast, smart, good hands, and tenacious.

Misleading. 21 points the Texans have given up were scored when the Defense was not on the field (2 Pick 6s, 1 punt return for a TD).
10 other points were given up after 2 other INTs.....one TD from inside the 6 and a FG.

The Texans' D is 2nd in yards allowed, 2nd in passing yards allowed, and 9th in rushing yards allowed.

Wilson ain't scared. He's been running for his life in all three games.

This is probably the most complete defense we will face but the Texans scouting is going to reveal about 12 offensive players who've caught passes from Wilson and Wilson's uncanny ability to remain clutch when needed despite getting trashed by opposing defenses. Don't forget the Texans pass rush have yet to face a QB quite like Wilson. Rivers and Flacco are statues in comparison, and Jake Locker while athletic isn't the smart scrambler Wilson is. And this could be possibly the best WR/TE corps you've faced all season not to mention the physical aspect of our running game. That Houston D has a tough match-up against a unique physical offense.

However, the Texans Offense faces off against the best 2ndary in the NFL aka Legion of Boom, smart , physical, play-making LBers, and defensive line that is as stout as it is relentless. Evidence above in the yard per carry stat to non-QBs at 2.8 ypc and a pass-rush that could push 50-60 sacks this season and that has been getting consistent pressure on QBs with much more athleticism than Matt Schaub. I'll give it to you that Schaub is probably the smartest QB we've faced thus far but Seahawks don't have to blitz to dial up disrupting pressure, this is the type of game where the Seahawks D line has been wait for to pin their ears back and just feast on making plays without having to worry about containment and a QB making athletic movement. Schaub just isn't that guy and our defense heading into Week 4 is probably the strongest its been all season as far as injuries go.

This is really a good match-up, I can't wait for this game... the Texans are going be the Seahawks toughest opponent yet. I'm also glad we get you on the road, imo Seahawks need tough road games, challenging experiences against quality teams is only going to make a young team mature faster.
