I see he's getting a work out in Buffalo. I could see him going there or the Jets or something.

Is he still getting paid from Seattle and Oakland too?

Not from Seattle. He was traded to Oakland, so Oakland took over the salary from Seattle.

Matt Flynn gets $6.5M for five weeks in Oakland. Fifth-round pick will cost Seattle $2.4M for four years.

This doesn't mean we are paying him. We paid him a signing bonus that is spread over the years of that contract for accounting purposes. The money was already paid to him.

May be semantics but it is the reasons why we have a different opinion on Seahawks "still" paying him or not

What McIntyre was trying to state is that the Raiders traded a 5th rounder, which would have cost $2.4M over four years versus cutting Flynn and giving up $6.5M for five weeks of service. This was in a statement toward Reggie McKenzie's gamble on Flynn. The Seahawks had some dead money on Flynn for this season due to the bonus he signed last year that was spread over the 3 yrs of the contract. I think it was somewhere in the $4M range. So you are right about the Seahawks not being on the hook to him for any money. It is just dead money accelerated when he was traded.

Have him compete with Manuel for the starting job when he gets healthy. Manuel will instantly turn into an all-pro QB.

Oh...those Buffalo Bills. I thought the stress finally got to Flynn and he took on the persona of Buffalo Bill in 'Silence of the lambs'.

Flynn is going to turn that franchise around.

Punch line unnecessary.

You remember when about half the board thought the Seahawks could get a 2nd round pick out of him?

I was never one of those folks, but to be fair to those people, SF somehow got two seconds for a QB that has turned Dwayne Bowe into Freddie Mitchell. You can see why they had hope for a second for Matt Flynn.

I bet that once the Bills see what they have in Matt,...he'll be cut before the end of the season
