Mariners picked up Leody Taveras of the Rangers off waivers. Surprising the Rangers waived him.

Good defender, had a good year at the plate in 2023, batting .266 with 31 doubles and 14 HRs as the Rangers' starting center fielder. Excellent range, good arm.

Rangers giving up on a young player (only 26), a little bit like the Nationals giving up on Robles last year. Still 2 more years of club control. Might solve the outfield problem with Robles out injured.
