Crazy to think that the assumed division winners have been the Jays, Tigers, and Astros for months now, and suddenly none of them might win their division and one won't make the playoffs at all:

-Astros are freefalling
-Jays have lost four in a row
-Tigers have lost five in a row
-Guardians are on a 10-game win streak

Now have won 13 out of the last 14 games, with 7 games left to play.

It's really incredible what the team and fans like us of the team have been through since the trade deadline. We go on that epic 9-1 homestand that has us tied for first and a few games out of the 2nd seed, to a disastrous road trip that soon after has us all wondering if we can hang on to the final wild card spot, to this 13 out of 14 game stretch that has us up three games in the division with the tie-breaker, and two games up on the 2nd seed with the tie-breaker.

It's really remarkable.

A couple of weeks ago I'd have been happy just making the play offs. I want to win that division so freaking bad though. Been almost 25 years. Literally grown ass adults haven't saw this. Also think it will help turn around the long term mentality of the ball club into being winners, especially with more prospects coming up soon.

It's pretty easy to figure out. We have a 2-game lead with 7 to play and even if we lose today, we'll still own the tiebreaker, so yes, the magic number is 5: Any combination of M's wins and Stros losses that adds up to 5 and we win the AL West.

The other thing to keep an eye on is the first round bye. The Blue Jays have all but clinched one of the byes, but the other one is up for grabs. We win today, and the focus will turn to how the Tigers are doing. Detroit has 3 games remaining against Cleveland, who are as hot as a firecracker.
