I like the new approach. And I hope it's successful this year such that Seattle continues to get away from the approach that has resulted in large scale failure.

I see this as a supplement to the old approach. The base group is drafted young cheap guys and they drafted more, but you need at least 1-2 pieces of veterans. If the draft approach works then this will come from in-house in the future. I don't see it as a full change nor do I believe they think it was a large scale failure. The pieces are still there which tells me they just put it down as too much too soon

Pete has said that it was Joeckel's last year of work at LG that sold them.
