I need to see more game play before I form an opinion on him. He sure got a lot of camera time last night. But most of his plays were a bit too...ambitious for my tastes. Surely he will settle down as he gets more game time.

Lotulelie is one of those guys who impresses in preseason because of his individual effort, but can he play controlled team ball, be where he needs to be, play his gap, and make the tackles he should? That's what will deter one whether he makes e tea, or not.

In his defense, he was all amped up in his first game. Now we'll see if he can adjust.

Keeping in mind it's preseason...he was taking a lot of high risk/high reward chances out there. The first one I saw, he shot the gap. If he would've made the tackle, it was a crushing 3-4 yard loss. He over ran the pay, the RB bounced off tackle, and gained 12 yards in what was Lotuleilei's area of responsibility.

It's easier to make those plays against backups in preseason. Against NFL starters, it hurts you more often than not. If he can play more disciplined, I can see him carving out a spot on the team. His ST play was good, which usually rewards high effort individual effort.

He is small. He also plays with an intensity and passion that I love, so screw his size.

Man... Whatever happened to Tatupu? I still see a few #51 "Tatupu" jerseys around every now and then. I haven't been following football (the NFL) lately, but it seems like he fell off the face of the Earth.

Since he was acquired, for some reason, I've always had the feeling that the best player comparison on the current Seahawks team is Winfield and Lotulelei. I don't think the Seahawks need another MLB backup and that may keep Lotueleli off the team (or on the PS), so maybe he changes positions from LB to nickel back? He certainly has the motor, football-IQ and quickness numbers of lateral movement on his side.

I don't know about Loteleli's coverage abilities but I could see him maybe being asked to convert to nickel back - and he could learn a lot from Winfield as one of his backups. They both have instincts and some speed and are undersized for LB and both seem to play especially the run pretty darn well. At least the Seahawks coaches seem to be okay with a few position changes now and then, so who knows, just my random thought.

I watched this guy stand up 320lb offensive linemen on running plays, at times driving them two yards back. He is very effective at the point of attack, despite his diminutive size. Great wheels and athleticism, and above all else, he's fearless. I can dig him.

On one play, he smashed the guard in the hole, forcing the RB to improvise. The play ended in a tackle for loss due in large part to Lotulelei's effort at the point of attack. He was a lot of fun to watch.

Did I mention I really like this kid?

Apparently it's just me but I wasn't very impressed with Lotulelei, Bradford and Powell both seemed more solid. Perhaps it's because the first play I saw him in on he way over pursued and gave up a big run for a first down but other than running fast I didn't see much to be excited about.

I'm no professional talent evaluator like all you guys are, and don't have the repertoire of fancy football buzz words and phrases but I will say the dude was all over the place and seemed to be around the play whether he made it or not.... or maybe it was just the hair.

How amazing would it be if 3 UDFA's made this season's roster? If you would have told me that would be a serious possibility when the season ended earlier this year in Atlanta, I wouldn't have believed you. Especially after the team's activity in FA. Well, Bailey, Lotulelei, and Mayowa all stand the chance to crack the final 53. You seriously just never know with Pete and John. Earn Everything, Always Compete, etc. everyone associated with this team take's it to heart. It's amazing and I love it.

As for Lotulelei, he's already making himself one of my favorite guys to watch. At practice, I kept watching him on Special Teams and he would always end up around the ball. He's got that Jordan Babineaux gene, or so it seems, maybe he'll be this team's version of Big Play Babs? Plus, the team needs a dude with long hair (no dreads.)

I really hope that Bradford and Lotulelei stick, even at the expense of Heath Farwell who though I respect his game a ton, feel that like Leon Washington he can be replaced. You could essentially have Mike Rob fill Farwell's shoes and be the Special Teams Captain while then allowing Russell to be the Captain on Offense. Regardless of the logistics, Lotulelei's gonna put up a fight to make the final 53 and at the very least he'll end up on the Practice Squad or on someone else's Opening Day roster.

Edit: We absolutely can't let Heath Farwell go. I'm sorry I ever even thought about it Heath! Can't let him go after an interview like the one below. Mike Morgan, sorry dude, you just added 15 pounds for nothing cause you gotta go.

Farwell and Lotulelei on Special Teams, with some Derrick Coleman sprinkled in? Now that would be fun to watch! That's what's so amazing about this team, they've got me more hyped than I've ever been in my life to watch even the Special Teams Unit!!! Wooo!!!
