Looks like Baldwin was wide open on 4th down pick yesterday

Yes. Indeedy. Short in the flat was open to Marshawn, medium at the sticks was open to Doug Baldwin, but possible 35-34 comeback victory hightailed it/sailed into the sunset by going long out to Rice [whose foward momentum would not allow a come back to the ball/back shoulder catch...(as opposed to lob over the top and catch/run down the sidelines)...Hmm, if we only had any tiny tidbit of pass protection LMAO! ] BOTTOMLINE: McQuistan is killing us at LT. High time to bring in Alvin Bailey.

I can't help but think Russell would've found DB at the sticks for the first down (+ out of bounds to stop the clock) no problemo, if he wasn't dodging the wide open flood gates on that (&nearly every other) play. McQ looks all PTSD at this point, and desperately needs a rest day. He's been shellschlocked/used&abused while doing the best he can in yeoman's duty. But let's face it: he sucks at LT. Cable needs to deal with reality, do his job, and make the change.

Still. Bailey & Bowie are the future. And that's a very good thing.
IMHO The future is now. Or at least very well could be if Cable would pull his head out and stick a fork in McQ.
He's done.

ps The forearm shiver to RW's facemask/neck after he released that pass, could have easily been a PF-15yard/automatic1stdown and was yet another aspect of 'the golden dogdoo officiating crew's' beautiful day...

Right now, the problems are systemic. both players are part of that.

Nice escape. He was nailed as he released the ball. Prove that wasn't the reason it was 'a bad pass.'

The dude is running for his life, can't see every player on the field on every play. One loss, and you'd think this team was in last place the way people are talking :?

A bad pass that started with a bad read forced by pressure that started with a horrible play call taken from a backup center surrounded right and left by other backup players. To a receiver not inclined to put it all on the line. Systemic.

Trying to assign blame is pointless, other than beginning with the play call, which was egregious.

Pete said Wilson did a Ginobli on the 4th down pass, trying to get a flag. The hit was legal and legit. I guess even Brees had detractors in San Diego. Wilson could be a big yardage passer if that is what the system wanted but as long as he is here playing for Pete the Atlanta game seems like the high-water mark of what he can be here.

Folks like Hawkblogger have been pointing out Wilson missing wide open WRs since he has been the starter. It happens. Does it happen with the best? Don't know, haven't been fixated on it as much as others.
