Lions onside kick. Stupidist play call I've seen this season.

WTF were they thinking?

And the Saints losing the game on the 2 point conversion attempt instead of tying it with the single point to go to OT was the second stupidest playcall that I've seen this season.....

The Lions call was a little surprising but the Saints going for two to win bothers me. I’ve seen it be successful before and people say how great the call is but unless there’s a kicking issue it makes zero sense to me.

Dan Campbell has made some of the dumbest coaching decisions I've seen this year and that team has bailed him out. Do not bet on them to go far.

That's why I can't trust the Lions. His video game style of coaching will prevent them from getting to the SB, just like it did last year. Get ready for chiefs eagles again. 🤮

Wow… that’s what I hate about this generation of football… too many madden players coaching….

There's a fine line between being aggressive and being unnecessarily reckless. Campbell crosses that line a bit too often, imo. Onside kicks have somewhere around a 10% success rate with the current rules I believe. With such a low chance of success, an onside kick should never even be a consideration until there are literally no other options.

Sometimes Mike McDonald has a little Dan Campbell in him. I bet mikes is more analytics though and feel like he will get more controlled with it

It's even worse than that. Of 41 attempts last season, only two were recovered.

That game wasn't a must win for Detroit, but now their cushion is gone. They have to win out to secure that number one seed because Philly isn't losing any of their last three against their sorry division opponents.

The way the defense was stopping Buffalo I thought it was fine. Even if you hold to a FG you get the ball back quicker and only down 2 scores.

Well damn. I thought they said it was 3 or 4 out of 40 something, and I thought they were talking about this season, but I could be mistaken.

But either way, with such a miniscule chance of success, I wouldn't consider an onside kick anything more than an absolute last resort. Pretty much like a hail Mary.

I just saw the reply

In that scenario with that much time left, has to be in the running for “bone head of the year”
