I do think more Packers fans are over it, but it takes time. When you feel wronged it's hard to forget, and I would expect that some people will be upset still for a very long time about it.

We know. Bring up SB XL to most Seahawks fans, and you'll get a similar seething reaction.

There is a difference between BEING wronged (SB XL) and the media beating it into you, convincing you that you were.

No, it's just different laundry. The Packers WERE wronged in that game, but not because of the simultaneous catch thing. Golden Tate committed OPI on that play, and everyone missed it.

Every time there is a controversy with officials, I guarantee you that each side can present compelling arguments about why they were right. It's just a matter of which colors you fly.

The real difference in the GB/SEA game and SB XL is that the SB was the biggest game of the year while the GB/SEA game was just a Week 3 deal.

The Golden Tate PI is ALWAYS overlooked, "real" refs or not, on a Hail Mary.
Nobody paid any attention to the late hit on Russell Wilson during that play either.

I'm pretty sure the main reason for the outrage was the fact that they weren't the permanent officials. Had it been the same call with the permanent officials, it would have been far more muted. But most of the sports media backed the striking officials, and it was just too easy to pile on. Nobody was even the least bit interested in finding out if the call had any merit.

This. The NFL 'backed' the call, but immediately got on the phone with the permanent screw-ups making it look like mere lip service.

Ya I dont think anyone could argue Tate didnt commit OPI...it was obvious as day. They usually dont throw flags on plays like that but it was obvious OPI...I can admit that much. Still dont care at all, it wasnt even a playoff game..just a game in week 3..big deal

I bet nobody remembers the Vikings vs 49ers game with the replacement officials...The 4th quarter was a robbery on the Vikings. Thankfully they were able to win. Media was nowhere to be found after that game

Personally, I never agreed with the call, but I would like to see it just go away once for all. I don't want to hear about it Sunday at all. This upcoming game should be about two great teams playing for the right to go to the Superbowl. The fail mary means nothing to this game. I do think more Packers fans are over it, but it takes time. When you feel wronged it's hard to forget, and I would expect that some people will be upset still for a very long time about it. I do think the way Mike Mccarthy handled the situation was really good. He actually called Easley and according to Easley “He wanted me to know he thought that what I did, controversial and maybe he didn’t agree with it, that I handled it with class.” Unfortunately, some of my Packer brethren weren't so forgiving. Not all Packers fan handled it right, but the media is the one really keeping it alive now. Many of us Packer fans are just as sick of hearing about it as you guys are. Hope people leave Easley alone. I also think it's a shame the media is revealing all this at this time, because this will just bring the fail mary back into focus for Sunday's game.
It's not like it was a damn Superb Owl... It was week 3 of the regular season! Be mad at your team for dropping the #2 seed by losing to the Vikings in week 17

So were we. That 100% bogus 3rd-down PI on Kam at midfield that led to the Packers' only TD should have resulted in a punt.

The better team won that day and there is no argument otherwise.

Nice post. This is kind of how I feel about SBXL at this point. Nothing is ever going to change what happened that day, but at some point you have to just let it go and move on. Neither the Hawks nor Packers had anything to do with the call, the call would've been nearly impossible by any official, and really didn't affect anyone's life in a meaningful way other than the poor guy whose job it was to make the call. Very sad.

Good luck this weekend PB19. I really like the Pack. Hope it's a good game.

PTSD? PTSD, really? From the media and a bunch of Internet threats? I have buddies with PTSD. I've seen it firsthand. Hell, I've felt a twinge of it a time or two myself and could probably get it diagnosed if it bothered me enough. 'Course we had to see dudes blow up in a war zone for it. Actual PTSD is a bitch; this guy sounds like Lena Dunham. Sucks that he has people hating on him over that, but that's some thin skin, there.

I don't disagree with any of this. I'm just saying that to paint the Packer fans anguish over that game's result as nothing but a media-driven misperception is wrong.

Sounds to me that he might have clinical depression that could indicate a chemical imbalance, and this negative attention exacerbated it. But to call it PTSD is insulting, yeah.
