Well don’t put stock in this defense with 7/14 on 3rd and 2/2 on 4th down. Kubiak needs to re-think his game plan.

Don’t count on 2 missed fgs to even have a chance to win.

The screen passes covered all game. Kubiak didn’t have any answers.

What the hell was all the shotgun
Way too much telegraphing a pass play and they never once took advantage of the end of quarter times when they didn't fool anyone hoping to get them to jump offside
Should ran a play
Where was the misdirection
Very disappointed
I know, right??

If I'm MacDonald, I would be screaming in Kubiak's face the entire week (while cursing him out) regarding not sticking to the game plan.

I mean...this is why Grubb was given the boot.

WTF was Kubiak thinking????

Shotgun should not be a part of their playbook... We do not have a competent QB or enough competent receivers
I disagree.

But I do agree that Shotgun should be eliminated from the playbook.

Yep, way too many 3 and outs. He's got to get more creative.
Or less freaking creative and RUN THE DAMN BALL.

I think they had 22 carries between Charbs and k9. I don’t care how many times they gotta run it keep freakin running or get rid of the backup fullbacks and tight ends and go get a bunch of wide receivers (please don’t)

He has a canon. The coaches don’t trust it with that kind of play-calling today. Let him cook with the roll out. Totally opened the field and he got 2 first downs w his legs.
Yep they need to keep running and let Darnold run too. And why the hell did they put Milroe out there one time and then never again. I mean commit to something sheesh

They need to stop being cute and start being ugly. I don’t want or expect this team to finesse you or out run you or even out think you. I want this team to have cauliflower ear and ugly noses cause we fight everyone all game. Smash mouth punch you in the throat and don’t stop smashing you until big John McCarthy jumps on us and drags us off our limp and lifeless opponent. That’s how they built this team and that’s not what they did today. I am stoked with how they built this team but they tried to drive their four door dart like it was some kinda Porsche, we are a demo derby, not formula 1

It's like Kubiak tried to outsmart Shannahan by doing.....the OPPOSITE of what the entire gameplan was (Running the ball).

He sure as hell did not endear himself to the 12s today with that playcalling.

Exactly…. We need to say we’re gonna run the ball and you can’t stop so let’s go. don’t care if they know we are running, I will take 3.9 yards every play

What I said about him before his job interview, I called him candidate "but".

We are likely to hire candidate "but", and I am ok with it, just keep reminding myself to control my expectations. A short story of candidate "but".
Kubiak, aka candidate "but", may be a safe pick as he checked all the boxes; however, one can put a "BUT" next to all the boxes.
Minnesota Vikings
In 2013, Kubiak was hired by the Minnesota Vikings as an offensive quality control and assistant wide receivers coach under offensive coordinators Bill Musgrave (2013) and Norv Turner (2014).
BUT, no NFL team offered jobs to him post-Vikings, so he downgraded to:
Kansas
In 2015, Kubiak accepted a position at the University of Kansas to coach the wide receivers
BUT, Daddy dear came to rescue:
Denver Broncos
On February 22, 2016, Kubiak was hired by the Denver Broncos as an offensive assistant while his father, Gary Kubiak, was the head coach of the team. During the 2017 season, Kubiak assumed responsibilities as the primary quarterbacks coach for the final six weeks of the regular season after Bill Musgrave was promoted to offensive coordinator.
BUT, after 3 years as QB coach, no OC offers, so
Minnesota Vikings (second stint)
On January 14, 2019, Kubiak was hired by the Minnesota Vikings as their quarterbacks coach under offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski and head coach Mike Zimmer.[8]
BUT, Daddy helped again:
On February 8, 2021, Kubiak was promoted to offensive coordinator, replacing his father, Gary Kubiak, following his retirement
BUT, after OC for Vikings, he wasn't kept by Viking, so he was downgraded to:
On February 2, 2022, Kubiak was re-hired by the Denver Broncos as their passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach under offensive coordinator Justin Outten and head coach Nathaniel Hackett.[10] Following offensive struggles to start the 2022 season, Hackett relinquished play calling duties to Kubiak on November 20
BUT, he didn't save Russell Wilson as Broncos moved on to Payton and he downgraded again:
San Francisco 49ers
On March 23, 2023, Kubiak was hired by the San Francisco 49ers as their passing game coordinator.
Finally, OC offer from:
New Orleans Saints
On February 14, 2024, the New Orleans Saints hired Kubiak to be their new offensive coordinator for the 2024 season, replacing the Saints' longtime offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael Jr.
Now, he is looking again!
Klint ain't considered by team executives as a boy wonder like McVay or Mike Shanahan. He floated around in the league for a long time and with plenty of help from family connections, he finally made it to OC. A long and winding road.

Coming from an old wrestling coach, love me some cauliflower ear.

Another nepo hire who's actually a disguised offensive innovator-genius now that he's with OUR team. ;)

Or at least that's what I'm on my way to thinking. He has an entire season left to change up the game plan, and perhaps he will.
