Not buyin' it. You see that happen all the time in the NFL and nobody's said a thing until now.
You see blocking in the back all the time and all NFL players know that blockers hold on every play--there's all kinds of infractions on every play. It wouldn't have mattered anyway if he'd left it alone it would've just gone out of the end zone. This rule is so obscure the ref looking right at him when he did it didn't know to call it.Smellyman":38tfyfzx said:if they called everything by the rules, every play by the Patriots, Packers and Broncos would be a pick play or blocking down field. They never do. Not calling those down in and down out is way more egregious than one call that wouldn't have impacted the game.
again.
technically illegel
spirit of the rul. nope

Was he the one Wiffing on every block ? The Bevell narrative needs to stop.
Has anyone told you Bevell fans to stop voicing your opinion?
"It's unfortunate," he added, shrugging his shoulders. "But you can't put the game in the referee's hands."

People will act like this was the final play of the game. Another season hearing every other fan cry about our "luck".
Seafan":2fr2b8v0 said:The ball was going out without the bat by KJ, and he could have recovered it and would have if he knew the rule. It had no impact on the game in that it didn't put the Lions at a disadvantage. Also, the ref would have to make the subjective ruling that KJ was intentionally trying to bat the ball.
I've watched the NFL a long time and I've never seen a flag for that.
On to Cincinnati...

So could have RW.
So could the line FTFY, seriously you can't expect Russ to constantly be running around and never get caught might as well have had traffic cones most of the night.

That really ticks me off because it's just feeding the fire and that's the last thing anyone should want.

Either way, that game was a terrible mess. I can't believe that the Seahawks pulled it off. Pure luck. Makes me worried for the games to come...
As for the bat, I think it's interesting that after the game the folks on ESPN were dumbfounded that it was against the rules. I suppose that there's no reason in getting too upset about it now - it came out in our favor. But still, we got lucky. Very lucky.
