Keys to 49ers game-scouting report

Awesome win over Saints. They were dominant in all 3 phases of the game. I hope that same zeal next week against our most hated rival...

For the 49er game, its still the same song, different venue. I noticed Marshawn's yards per average was down for the Saints game. Hawks should go back to focusing on the run game. 49ers run D is still their strength and their weakness. Like always its about stopping Justin/Aldon Smith. Their O-line looks a little dinged up with Iupati and Staley out. Next week, I expect them to run a heavy game plan of Frank Gore. If Hawks can shut that down, then Kaepernick is vulnerable. Even though Crabtree is back for them, their pass-protection is mediocre. Remember Hawk fans, Vernon Davis is still a little sore from the groin-related tackle :th2thumbs: .

Per DVOA, Seattle's rush defense is slightly better than SF's. And our secondary is the best of course. That's not to say their defense isn't good, it is, but it's our offense they should be worried about. As for SF's offense, their passing attack is amazingly ranked 5th (ours is ranked 4th). Considering the travails they've had, I was surprised to see that. Now that their WR's are somewhat healthy, they should be a lot better on offense than they were week 2.

That said, they've scored 13, 13 and 3 against us the past three meetings. There is NO reason to think they're suddenly going to explode offensively on us. Our offense only needs to generate 2 TD's to wrap this one up IMO. Don't expect them to slice and dice SF in Frisco, but I think it's safe to say we should be able to win this one in a low scoring defensive slugfest.
