Crazy that a pitcher drafted in 2025 (third pick overall, granted) could start in 2027.

Agreed. It's one of the things I don't like about baseball. If they are ready, let them compete in the majors. However, it would kill the minor league system. Got to have some good players who are major league ready to stew in minors. If he’s got great stuff and is ready why not let him pitch? I never understood developing them in the minors if they’re already good to go now? It should be based on the player, not the “that’s the way we do it in baseball” mentality
He was heavily used during his college years, GM said that, they wanted to make sure his arm was rested and could last a full major league season. I believe he just rested the entire last season. If he’s got great stuff and is ready why not let him pitch? I never understood developing them in the minors if they’re already good to go now? A player of his caliber does not need to "stew", when he's ready he willAgreed. It's one of the things I don't like about baseball. If they are ready, let them compete in the majors. Aw damn. Well, waive and move on I guess.Looks like hes got some work to do honestly. 1 Inning 41 pitches, 3 hits 2 runs, Did get three Ks though hes got good stuff.. probably just needs to work on his approach against better competition
