The only thing I don't like about our rotation is the lack of a good lefty.

Crazy that a pitcher drafted in 2025 (third pick overall, granted) could start in 2027.

I think he could have started this coming season.. except, I heard from the GM, that he had a very heavy workload this past year and the M's wanted to give him a year, this coming season to rest and be ready for the following season.

Can't wait to see this guy pitch in a ST game. The question is, when will he take the mound in a regular season game? Last fall I thought 2027 was ambitious but possible. Now I'm wondering if we might see him in relief in 2026.

Talent like him is not resting this season, he already had rest after
being drafted.
He could very well be up this season, maybe not starting but I think
he will be pitching for the Ms, he's just too good.

If he’s got great stuff and is ready why not let him pitch? I never understood developing them in the minors if they’re already good to go now? It should be based on the player, not the “that’s the way we do it in baseball” mentality

Agreed. It's one of the things I don't like about baseball. If they are ready, let them compete in the majors. However, it would kill the minor league system. Got to have some good players who are major league ready to stew in minors.

He was heavily used during his college years, GM said that, they wanted to make sure his arm was rested and could last a full major league season. I believe he just rested the entire last season.

This is true, he rested right after being drafted to this spring.

A player of his caliber does not need to "stew", when he's ready he will
be pitching for the Ms, when that is, will be decided very soon.

Looks like hes got some work to do honestly. 1 Inning 41 pitches, 3 hits 2 runs, Did get three Ks though hes got good stuff.. probably just needs to work on his approach against better competition
