I didn't have a chance to see it live but just finished watching.
A few notes:
Carolina's D-Line made our non-clicking O-line look awful. Then again, it's the first game of the year and we have not had the benefit of 'gelling' together and their front 7 is and has been outstanding. I'm not worried, yet.
I don't know how he does it, but RW can look like the worst, most poise-less QB and then you realize he's throwing at 80% and you slap yourself. RW didn't make rookie mistakes today, that's why we won this game. He looked like a calm veteran.
If it wasn't for RW's performance, the game ball goes to Baldwin. I feel like someone greased up his joints and globbed some glue on his hands because he looked awesome out there. In fact our entire receiving core had sticky hands.
We're going to come out slow if we continue to not be able to run. I don't have a problem though, because when we finally are able to establish the run the game will be a blowout. If you make the Hawks one dimensional, you have only have to worry about RW throwing and running, which is still scary hard. I have to assume this will be the goal of most of our opponents.
I can't give enough credit to the defense today. Gave up 100+ rushing yards but kept total offense below 250 and only 7 points. Would like to see at least one TFL (besides sacks), not enough penetration (what's new), but the results speak for themselves.
Great win, ~3000 miles away at 10am. Of course (as you can see in my sig) that our road woes ended a while ago.
Can't wait for next week. If there ever was a statement game.
