I think he had potential of being on the starting All Seahawks Team. Just didn't pan out.
My memory of him, besides the explosive plays, was him playing QB on a flag football team while he was holding out.

Am I the only one here that feels like... the quality of the broadcast wasn't as bad as it feels or that I remember in these videos vs the good ol days of watching CRTs and Antenna TV if you had to? LOL.

Man has TV Changed...

Oops! Never mind about that part then. However, he still couldn't get out of Seattle fast enough so still no.
I bought a Galloway mesh jersey when I was in Seattle in 1996, and also a Friesz jersey. I should have bought a Fan 12 instead of the former! I was disgusted when he spat it and left Seattle because he simply HAD to be the highest paid WR in the NFL (who was Antonio Freeman, IIRC). I actually found this photo and caption on my computer, just a few days ago (yes, he was blindingly fast)!

PS - Why did he still have his lunch money on him, after school? :sneaky:

I kind of lost track of him when he was traded to Dallas, but I just went back to look at his career stats. He played for 16 seasons and is #45 overall in receiving yards. At retirement, he would have been #36-38 (with guys passing him since). He's currently #38 in overall receiver touchdowns. Yet, it seems he never made a Pro Bowl. I actually didn't realize he's one of the NFL's most prolific receivers in history. Incredible for a speed guy.

Seattle fans love nothing more than to A) celebrate athletes who won nothing here, and B) forced their way out of town.

That said imhe still has one of the craziest catches in college, when he lays out then bounces a few feet off the ground while holding onto the ball. But I doubt the 4.18 stuff, they didn’t have the technology to get an accurate 40 back then.

I don't think Holmie ever wanted him. Too much of a diva that could only really run one route, a go route. Didn't really fit in with Holmie's WCO system that required WRs to run most, if not all, of the route tree to be effective.

The only real positive I remember about Galloway is that we fleeced the Cowboys for two firsts for him. 🤷‍♂️

JG 5 seasons 4457 yds, 37TD, 283 rec
JSN 3 seasons 3551 yds, 20TD, 282 rec

Currently at #11 on the alltime Seahawk WR list, JSN needs 907 yards to pass Galloway at #8.
When JSN passes JG he will also overtake Koren Robinson & John L Williams.

JSN needs 5044 yards to pass Lockett and 9539 yards & 81 TDs to surpass Largent.

In his 16 year career Galloway had 77 TD's and 10950 yards, compared to Lockett's 11 years for 8885 yards & 62 TD's.
Steve Largent's 13,089 yards & 100 TD's is in no danger of being broken, ever in my unhumble opinion.

Before Joey G there were track stars playing football. He was a football player who had track star speed. That made him dangerous. It's unfortunate how things ended with him as a Seahawk.

Bo Jackson wasn’t a track star playing football neither was Greene, who was the fastest man in the nfl pretty much every year during his career

I knew the very first game in preseason that I saw him play, he was different. The Seahawks were playing the 49ers and he went over the middle to catch a pass and got absolutely blasted. He immediately got up, did a shimmy with his shoulders to say that was nothing, and went back to the huddle. My absolute favorite moment of his career though was I was at the game when he torched Aaron Glenn not once but twice for very long touchdowns. It wasn’t even close as he blew right by him and then for the very first time I saw a player do this, he put his finger up to his mouth to shush the crowd. My friend, who I was with who was a Chargers fan, couldn’t believe what he was seeing. Yes Galloway was the fastest player I’ve ever seen in the NFL.

I should have been clearer....I meant from a WR role. Jackson and Green were rbs.
Darrell Green was a CB for the Redskins.

Darrell Green is rumored to have run a 4.09-second 40-yard dash, with verified times around 4.12–4.15 seconds.

Even at age 50, Green showcased remarkable speed by running a 4.43-second 40-yard dash

Joey Galloway holds the Seahawks record at 4 punt returns for TD's, Leon Washington has the record for kickoff returns for TD at 4 also.
Bobby Joe Edmonds holds two Seahawk records, most punt return yards in a career (1,010 yards) and most PR yards in a season (419 yards). Edmonds also made the AFC Pro Bowl squad in 1986 as a rookie.

Just rewatched Tory Horton's 95 yard punt return against the Saints.
With Shaheed, Horton and Emmanuel Henderson in the mix, plus J. Price had 3 kickoffs returned for TD's on 22 returns with a 36 yard average at ND.

Can't help but wonder,
a) who handles the KR, PR duties this year?
b) could some of the above records be broken soon?

Seems like there's two sides to the discussion. Those who watched him play, and those who didn't.
