Disagree. He would have gotten the occasional walk, and played poor defense.
Ok don't start him in the outfield though left field in HOU is small he could have handled it. Winky doesn't go 0-7 tonight. The line up missed his OBP. The line up was better with Winker and Torrens instead of Moore/Toro and Kelenic.

Yeah don’t see where he would have helped us. He would be either have been a DH or pinch hitter. I would much rather have Santana at the plate than Winker.

I think he only has one year left on his contract, do the Mariners cut him?

I would try to trade him in a package. I also wouldn’t be shocked if JP was moved if they get a great hitting SS.

I like JP but boy is that guy one light hitter, him and Fraizer and Jesse, Jesse misses his small ball park.

I really like JP the person, but he is under producing from the SS position with the bat. Need to replace Frazier as well, and Moore isn’t the answer nor is Toro. Too many weak bats.

Hoping Stanton and friends are willing to spend big in the offseason, or it’s “you gotta love these guys 2.0”.

Yeah now I feel better about not liking him.

On the radio they said he put in little work and expected to play every game. Those players are the worst.

I didn’t like him even when I thought he was a good clubhouse guy. But if you aren’t helping on the field or off it, bye!

Yep. Guys like Mitch. Extremely hard workers, every damn day. Meanwhile, on 710, Divish flat out said Winker doesn't work hard at all.

I still think the line up was better with him in it. Not sold on kelenic or moore yet. If Winky goes then going for judge makes even more sense now. What better outfield than julio judge and haniger?

Brock and Salk were talking about him like he’s a locker room cancer with zero work ethic. Ouch

Kelenic isn't good and he may have more value in a trade. Someone else can try to solve him.

Winker is toast. Guy had one exceptional year (for him).

Winker had surgery on his knee, and is looking at surgery for his neck.

Jeff Passan disagrees with Ryan Divish's take on Jesse Winker.

"Outfielder Jesse Winker, who was an All-Star for the Cincinnati Reds in 2021, missed the playoffs with a neck injury, and he noticeably was not present for player introductions last Saturday before the Mariners’ lone home game of the postseason (the Mariners said during an end-of-season press conference Wednesday that Winker has undergone knee surgery and will also have neck surgery this offseason)."

Jeff Passan: “This player doesn’t check off all of those boxes because I think he did post and I think he was a good teammate

And goes on to say that Francisco Lindor, was traded from Cleveland to the Mets and given a $341 million dollar contract and goes on to stink it up his first year in New York. But then plays to his potential his 2nd year.

Recently? Are you saying he's been playing hurt? Would like to know. He disappointed this year.
