I don't see the Colts passing on Stroud. It's very possible that Anderson & Wilson get taken 2nd & 3rd. The rumor was that Arizona liked both.

I am currently really fascinated by how little you can predict this years draft. A few weeks ago we were 100% sure that pick 1-4 would be the 4 QB's and now it could happen that Wilson and Anderson go at 2 and 3.
I would give anything to know what our draft board looks like, it could very well happen that Stroud, Richardson and Carter/Wilson/Anderson are still there for our pick.
I have really read through many sources of the respective "specialists" of the teams in the last few days from it the following picture has presented itself for me.

1. Panthers -> Young - For me the pick that is the safest one.
2. Texans -> Wilson/Anderson - I don't believe in a QB anymore, I think the Texans want Young as the only QB and he will be gone. I don't believe in a trade down either since there are already enough picks (possibly Hooker with a later pick).
3.Cardinals -> Anderson/Trade - For me the pick that I can currently least predict. The Cardinals actually have enough open spots that it would justify a trade down for more picks. I think if Stroud is still around some teams will do wild things for this pick.
4. Colts -> Levis - The region loves Levis and slowly but surely I understand why. Levis has been the most likely to run a prooffense and not have a great o-line like the Alabama or Ohioboys so they usually fail in the NFL because they don't know much presure.
5. seahawks -> Carter/Wilson/Anderson/Stroud/Richardson - Meanwhile I would prefer to take Wilson at this position.

i've never doubted the on-field player. he's been my #1 prospect in the draft.

but between his character concerns, legal issues, conditioning, and terrible pro day showing- he has plenty of red flags adding up. PCJS has said they are putting more value in to character... and although i think malik mcdowell echoes in PCJS memories... as you mentioned, jalen carter might just too hard to ignore for a team desperate for front 7 play-makers. maybe they make the exception and take the risk. the nfl draft apparatus is saying it's carter at #5

Pete especially wants guys who love football. I can't think of one player who has had success on this team, since he took over who didn't love football. If you think about all of the guys who became great players under Pete, they all had that edge to them. Clemons, Marshawn, Kam, Earl, Bennett, Avril, Browner, Sherman, even Russ had that too short, I can do what no one else believes I can attitude. I don't see that with Carter at all.

Whether he goes to the Seahawks, Lions, or Bears, the team that drafts him must be convinced from their interviews with him that, once they get him inside their organization, exposure to the coaches and the team’s locker room culture will bring out his full potential. I think the Lions would be a great fit for him from that perspective. As a Bears fan, I find that scary. Carter+Hutchinson would be awesome.

That's true, but the core issue is whether the character concerns are permanent or fixable. That is why the Seahawks, Lions, Eagles, and Bears have all brought him in for interviews.

Young is going #1 to Carolina. That much me know. Therefore, at least one of these 4 players WILL be available to us at #5 if we just stay put:

Carter
Anderson
Stroud
Richardson

Stroud seems unlikely, but it's still certainly possible. I cannot tell you how thrilled this makes me that one of these guys could be a Seahawk. We'd be crazy to pass on any of them, IMO. Even if you hate Levis, there are still 5 players worthy of a top 5 pick in this draft. We have a top 5 pick!

But it is to not provide context. IE: Multiple sources have provide insight that coaches were intentionally running him into the ground and he was running drills with guys 60 pounds lighter than him like teammate Nolan Smith

I know he had/has stuff going on but for most kids, the combine and pro day are the defining events.

He was not working out. You don’t gain 10 pounds of muscle in that timeframe.

I have sympathy for him because of the incident but, it was a poor choice at a very critical period in his life. Similarly, the combine and pro day are the culmination of all the previous work.

We all have to trust PC and JS. They will obviously drill down into all of this. If they take him, I’m assuming it won’t be another McDowell situation. As the position is a huge need of ours, I’d be happy with it.

But, just based off of what we have seen and heard (rumor or not), I’m not taking this dude at 5 if I’m GM. Of course, as an average, everyday fan, I really don’t know shit .

I don't think anyone has ever doubted the on-field player. He is the #1 prospect of most. It really comes down to if PC/JS think they can work with him as a person. Everything you are saying is common opinion.

To me, for a lineman, stats are candy. What my eyes tell me is that Jalen Carter has dominated Centers, Guards, Tackles, and DoubleTeam's. I also know that every year news comes out that knocks a player down in the public eye. So I trust John & Pete to do their due diligence and pick the best player at a position of need. If that's Carter, fantastic, if it's someone else, that's cool too. They're smarter than I am, they have more access than I do, and they have personal relationships with those that they are considering, I have the internet, and I know everything on the internet is true.

What does this have to do with the word "disinformation."

Disinformation means the reservations teams are having about Carter either aren't true, or there's a concerted effort to misinform teams so he falls.

Neither is true, he's earned all the reservations so far. Doesn't mean he's not an elite talent, but you're using the wrong word.

Take him and he ends up like McDowell, backlash will be severe (“told you so”).

Pass on him and he ends up being AD 2.0, then you were smart and based it off what he can bring to the field.

Sigh….each pick is a risk. But, after we’ve been burned a few times, I’m not feeling taking a “risk” as much as in the past.
