Man if that guy doesn’t get any help in the running game he looks like ass. I wonder if they’re thinking about turning to Purdy’s ass 😂

That was expected after an emotional dump the week before.Next game will be different guaranteed. It’s how the teams finish tbh. This defense is young but they’ll eventually click

The 408 yards and 27 points yesterday tell me something hasn’t clicked yet. If we could meld the 49ers defense with the Seahawks offense one of us might have a winning record

It isn’t in the cards this year for this young Hawks team. A lot of young talent but they need another loaded draft next year to really set them up for the future. I like the direction they’re headed despite losing. Stepping out of the back of the end zone saved a pick six albeit totally unintentional.

Can somebody please explain to me how a veteran NFL quarterback who has played a ton of football didn't realize where the end zone line was. Quarterbacks have to know intuitively where undefined or loosely defined areas of the field are, such as the LOS, the tackle box, and the line to gain. The end zone line has to be one of the most obvious spots on the field as you have a number of visual ques, ie the goal post, pylons, field markings, etc. And he wasn't just barely out. He had both feet well over the line. Absolutely incredible.

I actually have a hard time accepting the fact that a starting quarterback in the nfl stepped out of the back of the end zone and then proceeds to throw a pick six on the same play. Stinky G baby!!!
The sad thing is 49er fans think he’s worth a draft pick lmao 🤣

Hes not the worst qb in the league lmao. He's better than Fields and Lance. Better than Flacco in his current state and Zach Wilson behind him. Arguably better than Jameis. Better than Mills on the Texans. Probably better than mariotta

Better than those guys at what?
Jimmy has a loaded defense and still can’t seem to get out of his own way. His footwork sucks, no vision can’t read the field etc. And don’t even get me started on his weenie arm lol this is what happens when you don’t do research on a player.

How often are NFL QBs passing from there? I doubt they practice that much.
It doesn't matter. The play started at his own 2 and he should have known when he was getting close to the end zone line. And like I said, there were obvious visual ques present that he should have picked up on. He was running towards it so he didn't even have to turn his head, just a quick eye movement that doesn't take a tenth of a second.

Without looking directly at it, wide receivers know to the inch where a sideline or end zone line is. It's not hard to do if you're conscious of it, if you know when you're getting close. Jimmy just plain f-ed up.

WRs practice that all the time, so I doubt the muscle memory is the same. Not saying that Jimmy didn't royally mess up, but I think people are way overstating it. I don't see it as some all-time gaffe.

He does give the game away a bit. Worst is not a bar he is near though.
The WORST QB would not take a team to the SB twice, no matter how terrible.

Also, stepping out of bounds when you are a QB in the EZ and you don't have a play (3rd down) is not a bad choice. Drives me nuts we don't see it more. In his case it prevented a pick six.

I am a big believer in giving up the safety instead of giving a short field where you give the opposition almost a sure FG and perhaps even a TD.

Wasn't that a third-down play that prevented a pick-six?

Depends on where you stand, this is Jimmy:

Geno Smith is a poor men's version of JimmyG.
Jimmy is a rich men's version of Geno Smith

Geno is more gifted physically and measurable wise, Jimmy has quicker release and better footballIQ.

WR's don't have to practice knowing where they are on the field. That part comes naturally. You or me could figure out when to stop our feet within inches of stepping on the sideline. What they practice is timing their momentum carrying them out of bounds/falling down with the arrival of the pass and making the catch while keeping both feet on the ground, dragging their trailing foot, etc.

Perhaps its not an all time gaff, but it's definitely one of the worst mental errors that I've seen from a veteran quarterback for a long time, up there with forgetting what down it is or that they don't have any timeouts left. There's no excuse for JG not knowing where that end zone line was, at least not to the degree he did, ie both feet over by a good 6". The way he delivered that pass indicated to me that he didn't think he was anywhere close. He was completely clueless to his location.

Jimmy's career could easily mirror Geno's if he was drafted by the jets and threw into starting right away by jet's genius HC. Similarly, if Geno had the luxury of sitting and learning behind the GOAT, he could have big contracts by now.

Fate, is a bytch.
