Is it time to start looking for our next Left Tackle?

Getting Duane Brown was a brilliant move that also paid dividends with bringing in Clowney. With that said he has been somewhat prone to injury the last year and will be 35 before next season.

Anyone else think we should start planning for his replacement sooner rather than later?

I think Fant is next in line.

You better be wrong and yes it's always a good time to look for your next left tackle.

George Fant is a great story, good role player but no where near the future LT of our Seahawks. Leave no stone unturned.

George Fant couldn't measure up to Walter Jones' ankle!

Hopefully the Seahawks don’t use Walter Jones as a guide to a new LT. They will be searching for eternity... Draft the new LT, and allow Fant to hold the position down until the youngster is ready.

I wouldn't be suorised if they drafted a guys earlier next year and he starts at right tackle to begin the year. Even with Ifedi playing well i doubt they bring him back, somebody else will overpay.

I agree, it is time to look. The problem is they are hard to find. Top talent at tackle goes in the top 10 picks, and there is a huge learning curve.
It's nice to think that we have a new online staff that may be able to actually develop a player.
When it comes to Fant I really like him and his development has been really good. He looked solid a couple years back before his injury, so if its him I'm hopeful.

He’s played in 32 of 34 possible games with the Seahawks; I’m not ready to say he’s prone to injuries. It wouldn’t hurt to start looking for a replacement, but I think Brown has at least 2 good years left. He’s 4 years younger than Whitworth whose still playing at high level, so it’s at least conceivable that Brown could play at a high level for 4+ years if he wants to.

Until he's 39 or 40 ? Seriously ?

A lot of truth to that.

I like Jarmarco Jones too, but I think he is suited more as a right tackle. We should look for a new LT, and use draft capital or even free agency (only at the right price) to find this replacement. I do not think Fant should be the LT. If we retain Fant, I prefer him to be the extra blocker or jumbo tight end only.

Rite

Kinda why scouting staff gets paid.

They are not looking for Russ's, Lockett's or Metcalf's replacement but I get what you are saying.

I completely agree. Which is also why players should NEVER give hometown discounts or think of the team first. This is a business and fans/teams will move on in a heartbeat. Get your money
