Before training camp that the following would happen:
-We'd drafted an elite QBOTF for the next 10-15 year emerge. You would tell me that there may actually no other more valuable asset in the entire NFL when you consider cap hit, and we got him with a 3rd round pick...
-We had drafted a future pro bowl QB of our D in Wagner at the MLB position...
-We'd have a situational pass rushing rookie who can lead all rookies in sacks...
-One of our CBs would emerge as the top shutdown CB in the league...
-Our oft injury prone LT would shake previous concerns with a very healthy, and dominant season..
-We'd realize we literally have the best GM and chief of player personel in the league, and that every year we will continue to improve..
- and yet..we would win one playoff game only

I'd tell you that it's probably the single greatest year in franchise history, and that I can't wait to see a Super Bowl victory very shortly.

Ending in one of the most painful losses. Baptism by fire. This team is going places

Amen!

I would also add that we were in every game we played deep into the fourth quarter

Turbin isn't too shabby either. Most GM's are too scared to draft small market school players early, we took two Aggies!

Good points as well. We have tons of tight game experience, and a very good back up RB.

We lost six games.

By a total of 23 points.

This is the amazing part to me. We were literally in EVERY. SINGLE. GAME. this year.

I remember saying when Mora was coach (and we were getting blown out regularly) that I just wish the Seahawks were competitive every week. Mission accomplished.

This team is never out of it. And I love that.

Think about our position currently. Then think about being a fan of a team like the Bills, the Dolphins, the Jets, the Browns, the Jaguars, the Titans, the Chiefs are Cowboys, the Lions, or the Cardinals. All teams with decidedly worse situations than us. That list would grow if you were just talking about QB situations.

The reality is every team that doesn't win the SB is going to be disappointed, and its going to be NE who has won a bunch anyway.

It is going to happen guys. I really think within the next 5 years, but we have to be patient.

And down a total of 34 points in two playoff games in a row, That Wilson would mount a come back, winning one, and NOT losing the other by only 2 points...
Russell Wilson has served notice, and put the Seahawks on the map. :0190l:

If you'd have told me all that at the beginning of the season I'd say "thanks for the heads up, kearly."

12 wins this season. (16 if you count the preseason ;) )

Yeah.. our future is bright as all hell.

We will all heal, hell we're Seahawk fans.. we're clearly not in this thing for the historical pleasures of it all.

And when that day comes, when Lombardi is FINALLY ours.. ah man.. chills just thinking about it.

That our 3rd round ,rookie, vertically challenged QB would break offensive records set in the 30's.

And don't forget: we bred some serious rivalries this year. Will make games against those teams extra fun for a few years to come.

"Love those Hawks, boy! When you follow a team that doesn't have a historic championship narrative you really come to value just seeing an upbeat group of guys that can make a go of it. Very satisfied fan right here today." - My buddy from LA. He named it "RussellBall" early in the year.

Obviously, I would love to see a 1st seed or 2nd seed at worst next season to make the odds even better but I am actually glad they had to play two away games with this young group of players.

They fell behind in both and definitely could have done things better in the DC 1st quarter and the 1st half in Atlanta but they showed so much heart in their comebacks. They couldn't rely on #12 to help them get over the edge. I really think this will make them stronger in the long run.
