I would have signed up for that with no hesitation. Especially considering how banged up this team is right now.
Today was a huge bummer but the sky isn't falling. The only think that really sucks is NO won in Chicago.
This offense is going to be so hard to stop once we get Unger, Giac, Okung, and Percy healthy.
Yeah, I would have been (and am) happy with 4-1 after 5 games. 5-0 would have been nicer.
Additionally, going 1-1 on this 2 game road stretch with our O-line as beat up as it is isn't bad at all - especially considering the opponents.
With that said, the team needs to take a hard look at today's game tape and see if they can address their third down issues on both sides of the ball. It really was a disappointing outcome considering the quick lead the team took. And it's understandable that people will be frustrated and emotional after this game, so the posts complaining are no surprise. Some of them are legitimate, and some are silly.
Still, if Seattle had to lose a game this season, I'd say this was the absolute best one to lose. It was on the road to an AFC team. It has zero effect on our tiebreakers and isn't one of those inexplicable games where the team laid an egg against a clearly inferior team. It was a close game with lots of questionable calls (from both the officials and our coaching staff) on the road against a team that is a legitimate playoff contender. Cold comfort, sure, but I find it does help to put a loss into perspective.
