If and a big IF Hawks made it to superbowl 2014 with Flynn as QB. There won't be that last second INT, Marshawn were have run it in.

The fact is, the TEAM was excellent, including #3 who will go down as the best QB in franchise history, book it.
Any list that doesn’t include Rick Mirer …I'm on record here saying the Seahawks were right to move Wilson this offseason, and I even made up the unflattering (and yes, at least a little unfair) nickname "RW3-and-out," but I'm also on record saying, and I'll repeat it here, that Wilson is by a lot the best QB in the history of the Seahawks.
For what it's worth, I have the top four in order as Wilson - galactic-scale gap - Krieg - Hasselbeck - Zorn. If anyone wants to switch #2 and #3, that's fine with me, and if you want to quibble about #4, I guess that's cool too (tho' he was my first childhood sports hero). Comparing players from different eras is difficult. Even so, it's VERY easy to put Wilson light years ahead of all other Seahawks QBs.
On the other hand, Flynn probably doesn't lose the ball in a scramble fumble on the first play of the game. Just sayin'.I don’t think Matt Flynn throws a dime to Jermaine Kearse for a TD on 4th and 7 in the NFC championship game. Without that I think it’s the 9ers in back to back Super Bowls, not the Hawks. For me that answers the question.
I don't think anyone is saying he's so great. Just that that 13-14 team was talented enough to win it all without a great QB. I think it's a fair question to ask. He also had to sit behind a couple greats, which didn't help for him getting a shot on the field. If Matt Flynn was so great, why did he spend his career on the bench?

The year they won the Sb Wilson had to come from behind 5 times. take them away or even half we don't make the SB.No that’s flat out false. Wilson was a monster early on and like I said had multiple 4th quarter theatrics. The whole team was special including young Russ
This is correct. in 2011 we had Lynch and were middle of the pack rushing. in 2012 we were #3 and a huge reason for that was #3 and his 489-yards rushing which was 2nd on the team. THE RO made it easier on Lynch and the oline. in 2013 (the year we won the SB), Wilson was again 2nd in rushing with 539 yards. In fact, in 2013 Lynch's yards went down, yet we were still 4th in rushing. The running game exploded in Pa
the running game exploded in large part because of Russ and Welshers you keep ignoring the 4th quarter success and multiple games Russ won on game winning drives. Statistically he had close to 4,000 yards, was the leading rushing QB, didn't turn the ball over, hit on the explosive play and had 30 touchdowns that year. He was already one of the best in the league at that point.
Soulish said it best, we don't make the SB without the defense, Lynch or Russ. All played a massive part.
I just think we all forget at times how good early Russ was. He was a monster early on.
Yeah have to disagree. he had a chance with a very talented team and well nope.-- I never liked the signing of Flynn, to the extent his ultra average ability, could have limited the effectiveness of the defense and running game, thus limiting our chance to win a Super Bowl or even get there.
-- Fun question might be the other Matt. Hasselbeck. If Hass is in mid career, I think we win the second one, and probably get to a third. Matt peaked later in his career. He was never as "talented" as Wilson, but he never developed the Icon obsession, nor demanded the percentage of the salary cap that Russell has.

Well, there you have it....The Seahawks, really didn't need Lynch, because Wilson's rushing made life a lot easier on the O-line & Marshawn Lynch....Probably made it a bunch easier on Pete's Defense too, ESPECIALLY the LOB, eh?Yeah have to disagree. he had a chance with a very talented team and well nope.
Matts best years also included an avg of 14 ints per year, and only 25 tds, barely 60% complt, and virtually no rushing.
