So how many snap shot moments could you recognize if they were captured in a silhouette like the Michael Jordan jumpman?
I used to have a tee shirt with Griffey making the catch that was like the jumpman and I always got comments when I wore it. I would buy Nikes with the Griffey jump man for sure and hats. I can think of some other cool moments that could be recognized as a silhouette but I’m not gonna steal em. Whatchya got?

Bobby Orr's flying goal to clinch the Stanley Cup for the Bruins in 1970 has to be on every top ten list. You can't get much more iconic than that.

For some reason I'm having trouble posting it, if somebody else can.

I mean, that sudden death goal in OT literally won the Stanley Cup for the Bruins that instant. Game. Set. Match.

Thanks for the post of it.

North carolina state david thompson 1974 ncaa semifinals april 01 1974 sports illustrated cover

This was iconic to me. 6'4" David (Skywalker) Thompson up over 6'11" Bill Walton in OT of the NCAA semifinals, where NC State ended UCLA's dominant run of 7 straight championships. Bill Walton never got over it, calling the two overtime loss the most disappointing loss of his entire career, after UCLA gave up a 5 point lead late in regulation, and a 7 point lead in the second overtime before NC State finally rallied to win, and eventually go on to win the championship.

I remember that game well, being a big college basketball fan back then.

Though Thompson (former Sonic) had a decent career, he never quite became the NBA superstar that I surely thought he would. Drug addiction and injuries got to him. What a college player he was. Blew my mind.
