I drafted Jordy Nelson!

I drafted Jordy Nelson 14th overall in the second round for my FFL today. Then just minutes later he tares his ACL.

I picked him as a keeper in my auction league, the keepers locked out 30 mins before the news.

That's $34v less to spend out of $200, shit happens

In other news, I stole Davante Adams in the 11th round last week.

And this is why you never draft until the last preseason game is over. I never understood why some leagues want to draft so early.

My money league used to draft after week 3 of preseason, but the last three years we've had issues during drafts with overloaded servers booting people out, then auto picking for them.

People weren't getting who they wanted anyway.

So this year we drafted after the 1st week. 0 problems.

Obviously injury concerns are a problem, but there are fewer of those than issues we had running a draft right before the season.

Pick your poison, really.

I think we drafted now due to the logistics of getting everyone together.

Needless to say I dropped Jordy off the team today and put a waiver request in for Mohamed Sanu. We will see if he clears waivers and I can get him.

I like the early drafts actually. Changes how you approach it but players can get hurt at any point in the process so in leagues that draft earlier I tend to draft more rb/wr than normal to cover potential injuries. I drafted Nelson in a league for thefakefootball.com but also grabbed Adams late so feel ok about it.
