I didn't like the roughing the passer call on Alton

He jumped trying to deflect the pass, then hit Jimmy. I understand the "Leaving your feet" rule, but what about when you're trying to deflect the pass at the last second?

It actually looked to me like Robinson put both his hands out on Jimmy G's shoulders to try and stop himself and lessen the blow. Jimmy G sold it well. I think the Ref bought the sell job.

No, they call that 9 out of 10 times. Russ seems to NOT get that a call quite a bit. Was nice to see it get called for once. Maybe Ward should spend more time making plays and not running his mouth to DK, as DK is dominating that defense. That stuff doesn't work with Metcalf, ever. Also, Ward comes across as a cheap shot type player anyway. He knew Russ was going down, period. And it flat out was a helmet shot.

I'm curious how do you actually fake a slide?I saw the play and RW looked
like he wanted to run more but then decided to slide.It's not a pretty sequence
so I would be pissed if there was a call saying fake slide if he hesitated then took
off for 10 more..

Well they made that new rule where ever you begin the slide, that's where they down you. That play, guy went head hunting w/ his helmet. If he didn't use his helmet, he probably wouldn't have gotten the call.

Not many players are capable of doing fake slides enough that you cant react to it. I think Murray is the only player who can abuse this.

First, people yell about no sacks, now about a roughing the passer call. I for one welcome the call ! Sure one or two calls of this nature per game suits me just fine, seeing opposing QBs get up off the ground, haven to straighten up his equipment from the mauling in which he just received is a good thing, it keeps one eye looking out there ear hole.

Like Isaid, its a good thing and well worth the penalty which Robinson received !

I get what you're saying but we had almost the exact same thing happen last year in a game & got the 15 yard penalty called on us. It may have even been against SF.
