This is just....wow. I'm not one to generally get involved in the excess of this board but this is obscene. The dude can't play, he's not been forbidden from playing in some grand conspiracy theory to let the Niners win. And the evidence you site for this is what, Percy's perceived lack of intelligence and coach's demeanour's in pressers, like...really?

You ask the question how can 'some guy' come in and assess Perce? Because that 'some guy' is a doctor, a doctor specialising in brain's, i.e. the single most complex structure in our world today; the 'some guy' is damn good.
The NFL want nobody but the best doc's involved with concussion protocol. Before you ask why, they've recently been given 760 MILLION reasons as to why (http://nfl.si.com/2014/01/14/nfl-concus ... tlement-2/)

You also seem to be under the impression being concussed is broadly similar to being slow or stupid or something. Well if you google the symptoms of concussions (always a good plan) you'll see they include; headache, dizziness, amnesia, vomiting, slurred speech, sensitivity to light, sleeping problems (http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-cond ... n-20019272). So no some people are NOT 'are always as slow as a smart person would be while concussed.'

Its posts like this that cause others to see as whiny fans. If its how you feel then whatevs but if you actually do some research instead of mindlessly type vomiting anything that comes to mind you'll see someone being seen as concussed just cos they're 'slow' is ridiculous.

Maybe we can get this closed so we can all move on with our lives. Good lord...

If the NFL truly had concerns about success in Seattle. Seattle would be like the Cleveland Browns. When was the last time they went to the playoffs?

No conspiracy. If you want to point blame you can point it at a sad Saints organization and the refs that game in not booting a player.
But the concussion protocols are there for reason.

And...
Pete is planning on beating SF Sunday, with Harvin being ready to go in the big dance. Another game unplanned for Harvin factor.

Believe.

The contracts have little or nothing to do with how dangerous the sport is. It has to be the fact that there is a market for talent and talent is limited. The difference between having Tom Brady as your QB from Matt Schaub is huge.

By the way Easley and Lott could still play this game. They were fast and talented and smart ball players who were physically imposing. Those skills are still valued in the modern day NFL.

Interesting. All this time I thought Easley and Lott were just no-talent goons. This probably won't change your perspective, but Easley and Lott have both stated publicly they "would not do well in today's NFL".

Further, the players and their union have cited the "dangerous nature of the game" for eons when fighting for higher pay.

Are you aware the Seahawks are playing the 49ers tomorrow?

I just really have a bad feeling about this game now since the NFL probably made the decision he can't play not our team.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap200000 ... oncussions

"Once a team doctor signs off on a player's return, the player is evaluated in person by an unaffiliated concussion expert physician approved by both the NFL and NFL Players Association. This unaffiliated expert also must sign off on the player's health before he is allowed to return to play."

This is very disappointing are Concussion protocols a lot more strict than even last year? I remember Sydney Rice took what appeared to me a much more severe concussion last season and played the next game (looked like he got paralyzed on that play).

Harvin took not just one hit, but two hits on Saturday. We know he came back out, but if he had a minor concussion but cleared the tests and then got a second concussion that close to it, it's quite feasible that it would make it harder to come back.

It's not really that big of a deal. People think our offense declined a lot after percy left, but honestly I think it was more the weather and ball control than just having percy gone. They've game planned all week and practiced all week under the assumption he wouldn't play, so we'll be just fine. We won plenty of games without him, including the Niners in Seattle
This is exactly right.

remember what got us to where we are

the ability to win when we had to... when we HAD TO! We have WON WHEN WE HAD TO.

The niners... have not. Had they, they would be numero uno semilla, and we would be playing in their hood.

amen!

They didnt even try to do baseline testing with him til Wednesday. That means the team was telling him not to do anything til then. THAT mean it was a pretty severe concussion, which was obvious. Many players have concussions and just head off the field without missing a beat. Harvin needed two people to help him get off the field.

Every concussion and every person is different. I had a concussion that was so severe 7 days later I still had no short term memory. A week after getting it I was still trying to eat breakfast several times a day, based on the clock..not remembering Id just eaten. Harvins concussion seems in that category.

The value of the contracts are related two things, collective bargaining rights that created the possibility of free agency and the escalating financial position of the NFL.

I guess there's no way to know for sure since the Seahawks are a classy organization and they aren't gonna start whining about rules and concussion protocols.

I still feel like Harvin is ready to play, our team cleared him to play, our coaches expected and PLANNED for him to play, and the "independent" concussion specialist approved by the NFL came in here and ruled him out for no good reason.

The media is heavily pulling for the 49ers and it would be more profitable if the 49ers won since they are building new stadium so Harvin not playing can only help the NFL. It's a much bigger story to have the 49ers back in the Superbowl for a chance at redemption than the "cheating" Seahawks.

Could I be wrong about this? Absolutely.

Could you be wrong that it was our team that made the decision for Harvin not the independent specialist? Absolutely.

We'll just have to agree to disagree on this one then.

I still think we'll barely pull out the win. But if we lose to heavily biased refs and a lackluster passing game I will not be happy about this seasons outcome or acquiring Harvin.

this is a complete blanket statement.
So what if Harvin couldn't get cleared by the team docs.
And comparing his concussion to another is dumb. Every concussion is different.

stuff like this is why other fanbases hate us
