How good are the Seahawks...and are the fans really a factor

Maybe they have trouble hearing, but we don't help our team block, we don't catch passes, it's not our fault Boldin can't separate from Sherman, it's not our fault Gore can't penetrate our defensive line, we don't tackle anyone or help our Lynch break tackles. The fans can disrupt communication and affect a few yardage situations (false starts, delay of game, etc.), but they can't play football. Seattle wins games because they play better football.

I have been hearing all of this week how great the fans of Seattle are, the 12th man and also how good the Seahawks are at home. This has made me come here and ask the question, just how good are the Seahawks. The media is saying your team is great at home because of the fans, which I think it's a bunch of crap. These guys are professionals and a little noise should not affect how they play.

In a neutral field, are the Seahawks that good and the fans have no outcome on the game?

Does the 12th man really affect the outcome and the Seahawks really aren't that good of a team on neutral play?

We can safely say that the Seahawks are not a good road team. They have never shown to be one outside of Seattle. You have yet to explain their poor road record.

They are 1-0 on the road. A game better than SF, who as you know is 0-1. Please ride that road mantra all season long, keep telling yourself that. *Teams will always play better at home. I'm not sure if you have ever played a sport, but travel, time changes, etc do have an effect. I'm saying this as a former college baseball player who has experienced extensive travel over a season.

**I am not sure how you interpret "playing poorly," but I'd define "poorly" as not being in games on the road. If you are losing by less than a touchdown, then that pretty much means a play or two could have altered the outcome. Pretty simple math. ie 24-20 = 4 (4 points is 2/3rds of a touchdown, meaning 1 touchdown puts you ahead).

***Fans do have an affect. Not being able to communicate makes things tougher. If I took email and a phone away from you at your job, would you do your job as well (assuming you don't pick up garbage for a living)?

Say dude. If you spent a day or two reading our stuff, BEFORE you posted,you would have found all the answers to your questions. You would have been better off just telling us that you think the HAWKS suck and can only win at home. The fact that you disguise your thoughts in a poorly thought out question affords you zero protection. This is "our house" if you come in here with some weak crap like that you will get a verbal "beat down" every time. As opposing teams have found it true about playing in C-link, so too opposing fans should know , bring your "A" game, or the outcome will be ugly. Respect is earned not demanded. However the one time a respectful man offers respect that has not been earned, is when he is another's house. If you want to talk smack talk it, don't hide behind some weak ass question.

Let's see... Seahawks since their last two digit loss deficit (10 points) on 11-6-2011 have gone on to win 19 games to 9. (And are either 8-2 or 9-1 in their last ten games.)

All 9 games have been losses by only 7 points or less for an accumulative loss differential of 37 points... so in the 9 highlighted losses, Seahawks lost by only 4.11 points per game.

Now just add in that fact we've been one and still are one of the youngest teams in the last three years, should begin to answer your question how good we can become.

Then don't forget we are still minus Percy Harvin, Chris Clemons, Bruce Irvin, and Brandon Browner.

How about the poor play on the road? Do they really need the help of their fans?

You should do an experiment:

Go to the fan forum of any good team and create a thread questioning if that team is really good. See what happens. Trolling thread is trolling well and I guess it's funny to see people take the bait (which again, would happen anywhere), but it still is precisely what it is, which is just garden variety trolling.
