No I have it on good authority that Grubb is the worst. The moment we rid ourselves from him Geno becomes top 5 QB in NFL.
Grubb self admittedly had a 'growth moment' a few weeks ago where he admitted to basically surrendering trying to force a square peg into a round hole and that he was just now learning how to call a pro game. He said that prior to the bye he was forcing concepts on the o line he shouldnt have, given the personnel and that he realized he couldnt just call splash plays every down and act as though he would have the same number of possessions in the pros that he had in college. He learned to call a mote methodical, possession based, comolimentary game.
Good on him for admitting the error.
Those 2 issues - calling an uncomplimentary offense that just ran plays (and mostly pass plays) like he had an infinite number to run and getting too funny with blocking schemes and o line calls are a huge part of why the offense struggled the way it did. Its a completely different beast since he 'wised up'. Good for him and better for us.
If he hadnt figured out what he had... yeah. The entire offense woukd be better off with someone better. Hopefull he continues to grow and evolve.
