Todd McShay even says there are NFL scouts that rate him as the 2nd best QB in the class. I know the thoughts on the class aren't great but if Sanders and Ward may go top 10 it's highly conceivable Dart can too. Again, it just takes one organization to pull that trigger. Just keep it open as a possibility JS might fall in that same category.

I don't know why you all want a rookie QB to be set up for failure, no line and you get David Carr, fix the line, establish a running threat and you don't need to roll dice, reach or hope for a draft position. You can pick up a guy that hasn't been broken yet from another team, yes you may not get a rookie contract, but you get a guy that has been given time to acclimate to the NFL and cut his teeth some. Hass, Geno being two examples here that have worked out. Since they are not starters for their teams you will get a chance to give them that chance on a deal that is team friendly and control the payout based on performance.

I don't know why you all want to keep trying to re-invent the wheel. Draft a qb like we did with Russ and use the savings to beef up the rest of the team. It worked, we were in two sb's and could have been in more. Why change the formula?

You do that with a lousy line and you get the Browns more often then not, build the foundation and then add a QB to use it. QB's typically are not ready to start day one, also this draft class sucks sweaty balls.

For me, it's more that we're not in a good position to get either QB prospect that actually has a decent chance of becoming a franchise guy.

-- If Dart is available in the second round, I would take the shot. Roll with Geno for '25. If he struggles the kid comes in, if he doesn't then that would suggest Geno is playing well. Win/win. I just don't want to commit a giant bag of money to Geno long term, killing any chance to improve the team elsewhere.

-- To be fair, I generally hate all QBs, even ours, so I should easily distracted into picking someone else, maybe an off ball LB or impact safety in the second round. However, even I have to admit, we need a future plan for QB. Unless they like Howell, and if so, I will just trust their judgement on that.

Yeah, that's not what I said. I personally don't see much franchise potential outside of Shadeur and Ward. Maybe Ewers if he falls in a good situation. If the team has a guy they like, sure whatever, but the odds are extremely low if they just target later guys, like below 5% hit rate. I hope that isn't the plan.

We were in 2 SB because of a top 2-3 defense all time, with Russ just managing the O. Would have 2 titles if they didn’t let him throw

What are the actual chances we build another LOB? We need a QB that can carry things also

Dart would be my choice for Seahawks QB pick. He has improved every year, leads the nation in average completion yards, and his TD/INT numbers are better than just solid. He also does a good job as a runner.

Dart won't be there by the time we pick in round 2. If John likes him, he might be able to move down a few spots and get him in the latter part of the first round while picking up some additional draft picks.

Dirty uniform? That was a small, very small price to pay, just cost of becoming the poor men's Russell Wilson.

I didn't say it had to be this year. But I would play someone besides Geno so we're in a better position for '26.
